If you're going to accuse others of being moronic because of their logic, you should AT LEAST provide sound logic of your own. I'll take you point by point, because what you just posted was borderline retarded.

Why would fans be pissed at a first round knockout? That's what they wanted to see from Deontay: a brutal knockout. When have you EVER seen fans complaining about a first round knockout (providing it was a legit-looking)? The fans were cheering and happy… they only started booing when they saw the replay and saw that the right never landed and the left was a slap. That's probably one of the most idiotic points I've ever seen on this board. People hate early knockouts do they? You should be embarrassed.

I doubt that was the intention. Why would a first round knockout lead fans to believe it was a fix? Deontay has brutal power and has never gone past 4. Malik was stopped (albeit controversially) by Chisora less than a year ago. I think the consensus was that Malik would make it into the mid rounds at least, but I don't think anyone was shocked that he went down in the first.

Just think about that: if you know you're fixing the fight, why would you take unnecessary punishment along the way? You're saying that a first round knockout would have raised suspicion, but you think fighting a few rounds where they predetermined to be exciting but not knock each other out wouldn't be?? Again, these are not pro wrestlers, these are boxers. And Deontay isn't made for "exciting" exchanges: he has "knock you the fuck out" type of power. One punch and you're gone. So what are you suggesting, he was supposed to pull his punches? Nobody would notice that? Or are you suggesting they fight legit for a few rounds and THEN do the fix? If so, how exciting would those rounds REALLY be if they both didn't want to hurt each other? It would make both guys look bad. Another idiotic non-point.

Because these are not pro wrestlers or stunt men who are trained to make fake punches look good. I'm sure Malik did think it was a decent shot: you forget, he didn't have the luxury that we had of watching the slow motions from every angle. Malik's not a stunt man who had a director look at shot and say "nope, didn't look good. Let's try it again." He took some contact and went down, hoping it looked good.

Or are you suggesting that Malik would have let Deontay land a LEGIT KO blow? If so, are you insane? Who the fuck would agree to be legit knocked out to the head or body? That's ridiculous. Why do that when you can take a wimpy punch, but claim it hit you on the sweet spot and temporarily threw off your equilibrium? Wouldn't that be much safer… oh wait, that's what they did.

Because that's the point of a worked fight: you PRETEND to be hurt. And once again, Malik had no way of knowing how believable the shot looked: he took contact and went down. He didn't have the luxury of watching it on the replay in slow motion.

I'm not sure what the odds were, but given the fact that Malik was looked at as a step up for Deontay and was known to be crafty, I'm sure betting heavily on a first round knockout for Deontay would have been quite profitable. Plus, like I mentioned earlier, the longer you draw out a fixed fight, the more suspicious it's going to look.

…why not? There are plenty of reasons, including the obvious one that they wanted to boost Deontay up by beating a quality guy, without taking the risk of actually fighting a quality guy. And you get to have Deontay do it in impressive fashion: a first round knockout.

The only benefit of having the underdog win is, obviously, the gambling money you can win. But you can make just as much profit by betting on the favourite to win in a specific round. So I have no idea what relevance that has.

The "fix" couldn't have been anything to do with gambling money because there were no suspicious betting patterns reported. There are no bookies up in arms about the result. These days you can spot these things long before an event takes place and a big big deal is made about it.
