I agree. Mosley was still so phenomenal at this stage tho imo that's its easy to forget he was already around 32 years old when he was fighting Winky Wright and 35 when fighting Collazo.
Honestly, I think the Collazo fight was the last fight were we seen any of the real Mosley. He still wasn't Prime Mosley but nonetheless fast with great movement.
I think Cotto and on we stopped really even seeing flashes of "the real Mosley". I don't even think we seen in the Margarito fight. He just didn't move like Mosley period by this time.
From what I remember, Collazo was always a slick boxer that was a difficult puzzle to solve for a lot of guys. You had to stay busy against him and swarm him with combination punching. Throw 3 to land 1 or 5 to land 2. Stylistically, he was a spoiler of sorts. His problem was that he always lacked the pop to really make a name for himself. He seems to have gained a little at a higher weight but I can't really judge that by the Ortiz fight as Ortiz ran into that punch with his eyes closed and doubled the force on it. Even then, I think Ortiz had enough to make an attempt to get up, but as usual, once his hype train gets derailed... his heart shrinks and his b@ll$ leave town...
I think collazo can see that first kangaroo jousting punch from Khan coming a mile away, even if hes slowed a little overtime. Its the flurry that comes after that may look like there's damage being done. Collazo has to throw caution to the wind in this fight and chase Khan out of the exchanges and finish everything that khan starts..He can land what he needs to that way. He doesn't necessarily have to have heavy hands to wobble khan as is so enamored with his own offense than he never thinks about whats coming back in the exchanges. That's why every crude banger that was willing to stand and throw with khan has made contact, seemingly against the odds.
I think Khan starts out playing this one safe in light of his recent past record, costing him some stroke in the mayweather fight. He'll try to use his long arms and Kangaroo hopping style to throw collazo's timing off, flurry and then stay away. After he thinks he has a handle on Collazo, he'll take his eye off the ball and get a little too close for his own good. If Collazo wobbles him, better believe that collazo sees this as his last shot and will look to finish with Khan trying to escape on rubber legs. If it's at the end of the round or Khan escapes and regains his discipline... or even for the sake of novelty, khan learns how to clinch and last long enough to be reminded in between rounds of the money he's p*ssing away. Khan could try to stay on his bike for the rest of the fight. As usual, this one will be decided by khans discipline.
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

I think this sums the fight up very good.
EXCEPT (lol), I don't see Collazo wobbling Khan and him seeing it as his last chance.
I agree that Collazo sees the first punch coming and then getting tagged by punch 2,3 or 4, especially at the beginning of the fight.
I also agree a lot will depend on Khans discipline. Actually I agree with everything else.
As slick of a south paw that Collazo is I think he will land quite a few solid punches.
The thing is tho, I can see Khan or Collazo winning by KO, Close decision or tight decision. I can see either fighter winning in any way.
Anyone know of any fights where Khan vs a south paw?
Judah and McCloskey are both southpaws. So he certainly doesn't have any issues with them. Then again with Khans speedy in/out style I don't think it matters much southpaw or orthodox.
Collazo has good timing and has a good chin. Can Khan go 12 without falling foul of a well timed punch or 2? Million dollar question. Only the cream of the crop fighters will succeed to beat Khan via decision imo (as far as im concerned Khan edged the Peterson fight even with the 2 deductions)
