past two nights, i rewatched steven seagal's above the law and hard to kill

man early seagal is awesome! i recall there was no action star doing aikido let alone wristlocks/breaks and it was a breath of fresh air for the action movies scene coming from hollywood

so sad how the rest of his life turned out

I liked his first film hard to Kill and possibly Nico? but thought he was getting fatter and the films worse so gave up on him. I did like his realistic moves for fighting simple and effective.

I agree, Segal was hard as fuck when he first came out and I thought his style of action movies were innovating..

I was a little kid when my dad took me to go out watch Hard To Kill at the theatres haha without telling my mom.. man that movie blew me away at the time and I still think its good movie today!

Segal had some real hard movies like above the law, out for justice, marked for death, and Under siege..

I think he started sucking after On Deadly Ground came out in 94 although he had some few decent ones that followed like Under Siege..

Segal really fucked up in the 2000s when he got involved with some mob associates.. he made a ljg term deal with them which was why he started making so many straight-to-dvd B movies..

JCVD is classic man.. He had so many great flicks in the 90s i can't even count.. Just on top of my head, Blood Sport, Cyborg, Lion Heart, Death Warrant, Kick Boxer, and Universal Soildier comes to mind..

I thought Universal Soilder was the coolest thing ever when it first came out. Shit blew me away..
