I think you touched on his problem pretty good. Hubris as I've said before but a hubris built on what was supposed to be rather then what was. I dont see any fighter remaining undefeated if they were to fight those they should or would have say in another era. The problem with much of the hubris in boxing today is that its based on padded or protected records. These guys think they are Hannibal w/o the battles. Broner is a hard guy to discuss because he was hated so much but I think you made a good point on his approach. Like Froch in the first Groves fight, he believed that all he had to do to beat Maidana was show up. He believed that there was no way a rinse and repeat come forward plodder was going to beat him even on his worst day.
