Everyone is trying to figure out why he crashed and burned so spectacularly, in this thread at least, when he faced Maidana. Everyone had something to say and I think everyone is correct to a degree, he overlooked Maidana, he started believing his own hype, he had his mind on too many things, he jumped up two weight classes, he is simply not as good as some of us thought and of course he's a classless loudmouth without the discipline to stay focused on one thing at a time.
I'm sure Broner doesn't even know, completely, what his main problem was/is. I was surprised he did so poorly against Maidana. I think he is potently a great fighter if he figures out what he wants to make a real commitment to.
he's always had trouble with guys who don't fight at his pace, who overwhelm him with volume punching, for example De Leon and Malignaggi overwhelmed him and both got cheated out of the decision, IMO he'll struggle with anyone who can put the pressure on him and has the stamina to keep throwing and pushing forward, for example wouldn't be shocked if Matthysse was to take him
