Manny to roll back the clock and put on a vintage display.
As one of the few who unashamedly admits to believing Bradley won the first fight, all that Pacquiao has to do is fight like the 'Pacman' of old not like the fighter who stepped in with Bradley the first time and took his opponent for granted. I could see by round 6 that Pacman was struggling.
Pacquiao was not switched on in the first fight, where were the angles? where was his ring movement?, where was his power?, where was the Manny Pacquiao that made a mess of DLH, Hatton and Cotto?
He got sparked by JMM and i was not surprised, this is a career defining fight for the Pacman. He needs a convincing victory with no controversy. If he loses he's done and dusted.
How will it go? I expect a far more determined and focused Manny Pacquiao this time around. He should win and nothing short of a KO or totally dominant UD will impress.
I believe Tim learned a valuable lesson from the Provodnikov and Pac fights.
Bradley's ability to keep the jab in JMM's face, fight at his pace and distance while controlling most of the exchanges and his hand speed became icing on the cake. Bradley did not get over aggressive, make mistakes and leave himself in awkward/unbalanced positions, inside of JMM's wheel house. Although it was not near brillant, Bradley did exactly what you need to do as a fighter, to beat a brillant counter puncher/boxer like JMM. He used his speed (hands and footwork) to his advantage. Things he clearly did not do against Provodnikov and Pacquaio (although he did show more against Pac, but not enough).
I believe the combination of Bradley fighting an intelligent fight (as he did against JMM) along with the Pac's diminishing speed will make the difference.
I didn't think Manny looked too good at the weigh in. Slightly softer all around and didn't look strong through the shoulders and chest. Of course that means nothing, just an observation.
Pac looked good to me he weighed in at 145.
He will be punching from the opening bell
Bradley is not going to overcompensate to "prove the doubters wrong". That's cliched and to a degree, wishful thinking.
He is fully aware that he cannot deviate from his game plan and get too overly aggressive as he did against Provodnikov. Pac would step back and pot shot him to death.
Bradley will put on a fine defensive performance. Just watch.
I agree with Sleepwalker. One thing about Bradley is that he's an intelligent fighter except for that one time with provodnikov where he fought with a chip in his shoulder.
This is not going to be some exciting brawl because bradley will not allow it.. he will fight a smart, defensive fight although he will look to engage in spots..
This isnt going to be some thriller..
Pac will win. Hats off to Bradley for basically being an overachiever with the talent he's got... but Pac is a notch above. Having been KO'ed by JMM means nothing, except it made Pac realize he can be hurt and beaten. He'll use his ring smarts, his speed, AND his power to punish Bradley. Of course, Bradley will probably try to make it a messy affair, which is effective, if not crowd-pleasing. I doubt it'll be a KO, because Pac is no longer the "defense-be-damned" type of attacker. The JMM KO took care of that. But it should be a wide UD. It won't be a humiliating, one-sided beatdown, like Rios took from Pac, because Bradley DOES possess some skills and a brain. But it'll be a wide UD just the same.
