Williams is one of those prospects who are flying under the radar but trust me, he's the real deal..
I think Williams has enough to deal with Smith but frankly what promoter with a heart..or a brain..would want to do that to a solid promising prospect. Smith is horrid. He is like walking in on grand parent sex and the door locking behind you at 2 am. One of his biggest assets is that he doesn't care, doesn't care to impress, or if they crowd boooooos, if they fall asleep or even if they get up and walk out to go watch fresh laid tar dry in the parking lot. All the while he is fugly cagey enough to spoil, slip a shot and occasionally throw a punch, though with the frequency of Big Foot sightings.
Williams needs rounds, he needs experience with guys who don't fall over and I think Smiths shot would Williams lapsing a bit like he did with Alcine recently. He won and controlled the fight with power on display but the old grizzled vet actually found some footing and got a little stronger down the stretch. Found some shots on Williams and had some moments that sparked interest.
I think Smith is relieved he doesn't have to fight Lara now.
