Opportunities are not limited to just the 122-pound division for new World Boxing Association super bantamweight champion Celestino Caballero.

Not when he stands an amazing 6-foot-1-1/2-inches tall.

“There are plenty of possibilities, more than that are immediately apparent” said Glenn Quiroga, president of Sycuan Ringside Promotions, which co-promotes Caballero along with Seminole Warriors Boxing.

“Of course, Celestino can keep campaigning in the 122-pound division, but with his size he also can move up to the 126-pound division, and, perhaps, even the 130-pound division,” said Scott Woodworth, vice president of Sycuan Ringside Promotions.

Caballero won the WBA super bantamweight championship last week with an impressive third-round technical knockout of Somsak Sithchatchawal in rural Thailand.

Helping decided Caballero’s future course is his advisor, veteran boxing figure Sampson Lewkowicz.

“It’s because of Sampson’s astute guidance that Celestino is now the WBA super bantamweight champion,” said Woodworth. “But that should not be a surprise, since Sampson has directed numerous boxers to world titles and countless more to world rankings.”

“Very few thought Celestino could go to Thailand and beat Sithchatchawal,” said Lewkowicz. “But I wasn’t surprised. In fact, I expected it.

“Celestino can punch, he can box and, as was proven last week, can and will finish an opponent,” said Lewkowicz. “He’s 30 (years old) and been a pro for eight years, so he isn’t intimidated by fighting in somebody’s backyard.”

Caballero, from Colon, Panama, has a record of 25-2 with 18 knockouts, including a one-sided, 12-round unanimous decision over current World Boxing Organization junior featherweight champion Daniel Ponce de Leon last year in Hollywood, Calif.

Sycuan Ringside Promotions made its promotional debut during 2004, but already has six current or former world champions and has promoted and presented world title bouts on premium cable networks across the country.

He should go to 126 now or try to get a fight with Vazquez at 122 and then go up. He'll be tough for anybody in those two weight classes.

He should fight Vasquez before moving up, but its a fight I pick him to win!!!

It would be a good fight

Vazquez would have to work pretty hard to get inside, Caballero's so big and he throws a lot of long punches, punches that Vazquez would either have to slip or just walk through to get inside. And then Caballero's got a good chin too, Ponce hit him with some good shots but Caballero was never really groggy. And he's got some power too. And real good stamina. Very good fight.

Great fight, Vasquez has so much heart but I think that would be his downfall. Caballero would land to many big shots for Vasquez to stand up to. If Caballero can't get Vasquez a rematch with Cordoba the avenge his defeat would also be great!

Someone fill me in,Cabllaro has 2 losses right? To whom/how? And anyone see the Ponce De Leon fight? I like Daniel,awesome power but you're telling me this Caballaro stood there and took it?!

Yeah I saw it, I was really impressed as Caballero's chin has always been a question mark! His last loss was to Ricardo Cordoba where he was out fought & knocked down in the 10 losing a wide 12 rd decision. His other los was a 3rd round KO to Jose Rojas who recently fought to a 4th round tech. draw with Chris John, but was ko'd by Yober Ortega in 2001 in 4 rds. With Caballero beating Ortega recently I suppose he sorta over came that lose.
