Yes I've heard that Eubank was braggin about beating up on a 15 year old Roy Jones. Wouldn't been a completely differnt story had they met as grown men. Roy woulda slapped his metrosexual ass all over the ring. Probably woulda been tuff to stop the stubborn bastard, but Roy woulda won nearly every round.

I can't see Eubank winning too many rounds due to his low activity level, but most rounds would of been very, very close. Jones Jr would of been a handful for Eubank, and Eubank would of been a nightmare for Jones Jr.

How can you Chris Eubank fans say he'd beat Jones when Chris Eubank himself said he wouldn't?

all you have to do is watch the two fighters....
Roy was probably better at everything, speed, reflexs, footwork and even power....not chin though. Chris had an iron chin.
Roy was a one off, and probably P4P the best fighter of all time...

Eubank was a special fighter and hell in 1993 Roy JUST got to 20 fights, he just beat Bernard Hopkins, and Eubank was already well established with 30 wins.

Chris might have given RJ SOME trouble but I see Roy outlasting him and outboxing him...he was younger, faster, and he hit harder

and plus eubank doesnt like people who throw loads of punches look at 2nd watson fight for example he doesnt like people who have loads of workrate i just dont think eubank has got enough workrate to beat jones

Jones never really threw that many punches, he would through big combos but he would stalk round the ring and through single shots a lot of the time.

When RJ needed to be active he was active

Eubank-Jones Jr. would start out a chess match and end up as a close decision with Roy taking it

Pre BENN, EUBANK used the ring better than anybody Ive ever seen, countered as well as anybody Ive ever seen and was the deepest thinker Ive ever seen in a boxing ring-he never wasted a shot, back then EUBANK was something very special

CHRIS was slicker and silkier than ROY but ROY had the power, fitness, workrate, determination, aggression JONES JNR was a beast back

like I said on the jones/benn thread

only regional pride could make someone say Eubank gets the W here

How would u know, youve probably never seen EUBANK fight

It would of taken something special to beat the Pre WATSON EUBANK

Even Post WATSON EUBANK had a better shot than any1 of outpointing JONES JNR, but i dont think he would of done becuz JONES JNR was head2head and ability wise about the best Ive ever seen and EUBANK always ran out of steam having drained his weight

yes silly I've seen Eubank fight - and the guys amazing I won't take that away from him. and I also agree it would've taken something special to beat him in his prime, and Jones Jr. was just that

it's not uncommon to let regional pride influence what you say and think, just for me personally I have none at all. when Calzaghe and Lacy went head to head I was screaming Calzaghe the whole time and I'm 100% American. and in my humble opinion Eubank loses this one, 10 out of the 12 rounds I'd guess.

Dodging a fighter is a cardinal sin in boxing and is something i can never be accused of, unlike one such character who came on the scene at the end of my era. Roy Jones, James Toney and Michael Nunn for example. I did not dodge.

Lets use Roy Jones as an example. When people asked me why i wouldnt fight him, I would say to them, `Never mind the title or my job, a fight like that could take five or six years off my life.` I was well aware of that. He was, pound-for-pound, arguably the best fighter on the planet; in regards to his style, his devastating punching ability, the whole repertoire, he had it.

The rule is that if you are champion of the world for one body, you cannot be the No. 1 contender for another belt. Unless someone was officially the recognised No. 1 contender, i had no professional obligation to face them. With Roy Jones, he was fortunately (and i use that word with the utmost respect) never No. 1 contender. Had he been, I would not have dodged. I would have taken the fight. Would have i have won the fight? Highly unlikely. What would have been for sure was that he would have come away from the fight and got hurt, and i would have been hurt probably far more than he was. It would of been a war. Technically we would have been well-matched, so our pure grit would have started to come into play. I believe we both had powerful wills, so I feel that fight would have ended up running on pure instinct. That can be an exceptionally violent occurrence. Interestingly, i was told that Roy Jones was rumoured to have said that the only fighter he had reservations about facing was me. I dont remember any of my critics saying much about that.
