There are numerous ways to neutralize any one punch but my suggestion when not circling would be to use range in a different manner. That looping overhand right can't be used from outside or inside. It's a between punch. So if I was in his corner I'd have Floyd use the body jab more to keep Maidana away and when Maidana closes I'd have Floyd step all the way in so there is no middle ground fighting. Step all the way to Maidana, use the uppercut to the belly, nudge for a little room then short right. The shoulder roll is actually very good for infighting. (See James Toney) But that sequence is assuming the ref doesn't allow much holding. Either way stepping in eliminates that looping overhand.
