Alvarado is a great athlete but he is just very limited skill wise, he really didn't have anything to offer JMM and I think most people knew that going in.

Wow, you're actually calling a person of non-African descent a great athlete!!!

I'm fckin with you man. Seriously , all in good fun.

You're right though, Alvarado just didn't ( and never will) have the ring skills to beat a legend like JMM. Did anyone else think Marquez lost some of his power though down the stretch? He was still landing but not the powerful shots that mangled Mikes eye early on.

Damn, I'm rewatching the fight now. JMM dominated in each and every way. Alvarado has quite a chin, man can take a beating. overall, at least against Mile High, it didn't look like JMM lost a step

I watched this bout up close and personal and the reason why marquez looked younger and fresher than his age was because alvarado allowed him to fight at his own pace. It is the same mistake that other young fighters make against bernard hopkins..

Alvarado would have had a better shot if he went for broke earlier.. u dont try to box with the master boxer and he gave marquez too much space in the first half of the fight.

People keep raving about how young marquez looked so young and how he might be on steroids and shit but it had nothing to do with that. Alvarado had the wrong game plan..

If marquez were to face bradley again, he would have the same problems he did in their first fight.

Hey Finito, I was thinking about you as I watched the fight. I think I saw you, were you the black guy in the rapper outfit? You looked good. You picked a good fight to be at especially seeing how you are JMM fan. Seems like the crowd was electric, hope you had a great time.

I agree, Finito. I think I mentioned Marquez being 4-0 up because Alvarado didn't seem to be doing anything. You can't just do nothing for half a fight. Marquez looked awesome, but like with Pac sometimes, it was clever matchmaking too. Marquez looked much, much faster than Alvarado and would put together punches in proper hurtful combinations.

I noticed, and Marquez slowed enough for Alvarado to start touching him but not with anything that really hurt him. Marquez has a decent chin and recuperates fast when he does go down.
An altogether exciting fight with something for everyone, in my opinion.

The fight was shown here for free but delayed an hour for commercials in between. The one shown here is always the Top Rank version, though nothing much different than the HBO except with different commentators. It had Tim Bradley as one of the commentators, as well as - what's his name? - that grandpa from HBO? I wonder anybody else heard Tim. I thought he'd make a good boxing commentator...

By washing your face and always showering after exercises it will reduce this effect. If you have very severe acne see your dermatologist, but in most instances even a dermatologists can't do anything until your cycle is over.

Hughie Fury had spots all over his body in his last fight and I am sure he is not taking steroids.

You guys remember Alejandro Gonzalez or a Victor Rabanales ? Cobrita looked like he walked out of the final scene of a Tarantino movie. Dude had to feel like he was rolling in soaky bubble wrap when he slept. Marquez looked outstanding, get over it.

Thumbs up Re: Alvarado v Marquez

I think a number of guys here made valid points and Marquez could have been using some kind of PED. In the end, this is only speculation so I don't hang my hat on it. Hopefully he played fair and square in a boxing match where an unfair advantage could relate in death for theIn boxingnopponent.
Assuming he didn't, Marquez put on a beautiful performance against my favorite boxer. Perhaps he looked at it as a tune up fight but it was a brave one. to reiterate what others said I really hope we don't see another another Manny fight but that is probably where the money is. I think a rematch with with Bradley is in order. Enough of the Manny fights or perhaps he can fight the winner of Prod versus Manny. With the cold war In boxing I guess Manny v Marqez May very well take place. I would love to Manny v Pac is likely or perhaps it could do do a lot to end the cold war.
