OH AND BY THE WAY---here is the list of losers Groves has fought the past 2 years (not counting Froch)

2013-05-25 Noe Gonzalez Alcoba 30-3-0 (never fought out of Uruguay)

    2013-03-23 Baker Barakat 37-16-5

    2013-03-09 Dario German Balmaceda 11-7-2

    2012-12-15 Glen Johnson 51-19-2

    2012-07-28 Francisco Sierra 25-8-1

    2011-11-05 Paul Smith 31-3-0
you make a very fair point and his record illustrates that. Maybe he is overrated, but what does that say about Froch in this stage of his career?
for a champion to get knocked down in the 1st and consequently outboxed for the next 5/6 rounds by an overrated young upstart doesn't say much for him.
No World Champion in any division should get hit as much as Froch did in the 6th round with clean punches on the chin. Credit to Froch that he took all of that , but if he was fighting a World class fighter rather than a "young, energetic , overrated boxer", how would he have survived?

I wouldn't say that Groves is overrated; he is pretty much ranked where he should be.

You might actually not be giving Groves enough respect & that's a mistake Froch made six months ago.

Also, by damning George Groves, you inadvertently damn Froch too.

Froch got outboxed & outpunched for most of their first fight & but for Groves' insistence on trying to slug with Froch & a premature stoppage, he might have beaten Froch.

"Punchers Chance" ? Have you actually watched the first fight Brock ? Groves boxed rings around Froch and don't forget that at this stage in Froch's career he was fighting Robin Reid for the British Title not a multi belt holding world champion like himself. Froch took 12 rounds to grind out a points win against Adamu in his 12th fight and Groves stopped Adamu in round 6 of his 9th fight. Since when is Glen Johnson a loser when Froch faces him in his 28th fight or when Groves faces him in his 16th?

Do not forget what a massive underdog a young Groves without a manager was before the first fight and how much chutzpah it took to make the bold predictions he did against the darling of sky Sports and the British boxing media and then to follow through and put the Champion on his arse and subject him to a merciless beating round after round. You have either not watched the fight or had your fingers in your ears if you think it is Groves who is over rated.

Froch not only deemed him not worthy of sharing a ring with him but complained like a baby when Groves refused to lick his boots. Remember also that Froch is 36 with a very successful super six tournament behind him and Groves is 26 with his whole career before him so you can not disregard Froch's experience in multiple world title fights when assessing how impressive the demolition job Groves did on him in the first rounds of the first fight. I am a fan of both fighters and have for a long time said that Groves had an enormous amount of potential that I thought was not being capitalised on under Booth, so I had no issue with Froch until he behaved like such a dick head and was still surprised that he did what he did. In the first fight Groves was the underdog and not many people foresaw how well he would do. Even after that demonstration many people have Froch as the favourite going into the rematch, so how exactly is Groves over rated ?

I'd agree with this statement 100% prior to the first fight - I couldn't for the life of me work out how Groves had got a shot at Froch as thought they were leagues apart, they certainly were in terms of opposition faced.

Don't agree now though - but I still see Froch hurting him badly in the later stages on Saturday

To be fair though glen johnson was coming off multiple losses and beatings and Charles adamu was much older than when froch faced him.

Froch likely wanted to scrap with groves and groves knew it and took advantage.
What groves can't do is adjust like froch can, froch changes his rhythm and pace all the time so you don't know what to expect at any time but he makes up for his slowness with his timing otherwise groves would have moved away from the ropes at the stoppage?

Why didn't groves move anyway because his fans keep saying he wasn't exausted??

How comes froch never got trapped on the ropes?

If froch isn't all that good then ali must be shit because they both have something in common......they took massive beatings but only one gets credit for it!!

    Very strange

He had a good showing the first time and I think Froch had a bad night. This time Froch is going to beat him convincingly.

I won't be surprised either way! Groves came out of nowhere to get all the Brit boxing fans hyper ventilating and foaming at the mouth.
One thing for sure, he has the lions share of the credit for filling Wembley Stadium. Him and the fans who didn't approve of the 'quick' stoppage, that is.
I hope fight night will give the Brits a definitive answer about Carl and George. Everyone else is interested too!

I'm very interested in the fight for sure, and for sure it was a bad stoppage, but IMO at that point Carl had caught up with him and broken him physically, and there's no way George was going to last another 3 1/2 rounds.

This time I suspect Carl will catch up must quicker and will give a dominant performance.

Groves is a not overrated he's world class, Froch beat him with his grit and determination because
he was being out boxed and took a good bit of punishment.
It shows Froch has very good chin, but again it showed he can be out boxed but he will be there
    for 12 hard rounds.

Those are not like for like comparisons, just like Groves is nothing like Gatti. If anything Froch is more like Gatti and Froch is not really like Gatti much at all.

The doubters who have been put to silence are virtually everyone on Earth when Groves suggested that he would meet Froch in the centre of the ring and batter him round after round. You are trying to turn it all on it's head.

Beanz have you ever seen Gatti fight/stance/ Groves fights esxactly like Gatti. Low left hand, right hand up to the chin, wide stance, crouching, long range bombs, wide punches, shifting his balance rapidly and incessantly from one foot to the other, he fights and ACTS exactly like Gatti. Groves is way overrated. He is a rough-houser with a good jab but his punches also lack POP. Or will you say Froch has granite in his chin? Surely frocjh shoulda been KTFO after so many overhand rights gfrom Groves right on the button. Surely.!!
