There's a couple of more things to it than meets the eye though. I would of thought the second reason people get carried off was cause it holds the game up longer if they tried hobbling off on their own and they get a fresh man out there faster. Pain comes in degrees depending on the persons situation too, adrenalin helps, mindfulness too;shit hurts heaps more when you are at home relaxing than out there doing it.The mind cant think of two separate things at once, so you can go somewhere else away from the pain, but not everyone can do that and it doesnt make them worse or better.Then there are a few just plain stupid fuckers with giant egos who would do more damage to themselves instead of looking long term.On the other hand you may get a team player still intelligent within the pain, but wants to make the finals game next week so he's smart and goes off.The whimp.
