Not really surprised at going out early. I think Walcott and Oxlade Chamberlain were big misses but ultimately we just weren't quite good enough Hopefully that's the end of Gerrard. There's the makings of a decent team in there with the likes of Ox, Sterling, Barkley.

On my 7th beer now, need a fair few more to blot the pain out.

Going forward England have plenty of young talent...I think Sturridge gives you a good solid striker for years to come, Welbeck can grow and develop. You've got great wingers at your disposal Theo, Ox, Sterling. You've got some talent in the attacking midfield with Wilshire, Lallana, and the kids coming up behind them like Ward-Prowse, Jack Cork. I think Goalkeeper and CB are probably your biggest bugaboos other than a competent manager. Luke Shaw and Leighton Baines at LB...not too bad, Flano and Clyne at RB. You've got some highly skilled athletes and I think with Spain suffering a huge setback like they have they might take longer to fix because they are going to lose an entire side due to age and we don't know how they'll handle that. With England I believe there will be an easier transition because you've got a few guys ready to lead after the guys of Gerrard's era retire from international play.

Yeah he had a...erm...tough season. To be fair he started to look pretty good whenever he played during the last 2-3 months of the season. There's a good player in there somewhere. He's a nice guy too. Is he out for the tournament or just the Portugal game? It looked bad but last I read he was being "monitored".

Just the Portugal game for sure, but that was really bad one, usually takes 4 weeks if not more.

The problem is getting them to perform on the national stage - we weren't expecting much this world cup but we weren't expecting first two defeats. Once again we've come up short.

Ok Uruguay and Italy weren't particularly better than us on the nights but they took their chances when it mattered. On another night Rooney could have easily scored 4 against Uruguay - and should have had one against Italy. And as for Suarez's second which was straight down the middle.....and why couldn't Gerrard but one of our guys through on goal like that !!

Anyway - maybe someone will now have the balls to take some action back home and realise (what we've all known for years) something HAS t happen re the foreigners in the premier league. A serious lack of home grown talent.

But yes there is potential out there. We just need to fucking do something with it

It's not that your guys don't have talent, it's not that those players can't achieve on the pitch, it's that a team of superstars doesn't always make the best TEAM. I think you guys need a manager who isn't a afraid to leave a few studs off the roster if they don't fit his style. You guys are caught between tiki taka and longball and it's hurting your performances. You need a manager with a set style who chooses players who best fit that style...they might not be the best players, the most athletic, the fastest, the best passers or dribblers or whatever but you need a team that works together and meshes.

I think the premiere league product has screwed the national English team. Not enough quality coming through and when they are there they are overpaid and end up spoilt little shits who do not give a monkies.
