It's the Bradley effect, when he's off the whole team is off. Also, Belgium is a very good team, have to give them credit as well, the speed, power and technique are great.

For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

they're good but for parts of the game they looked like a team consisting purely of the all time greats playing a junior team but US did wake up eventually but a tad bit late, and as you said they never did give up and i am sure gave it theyre all, Howard is a beast!

I think harnessing Michael Bradleys output during a game could solve the worlds energy problems. Incredible athlete. The genius free kick deserved a goal, reminded me of the one we conceeded against Argentina in 98 (I think). Very clever.

Belgium look good in spats. Are they going to get it together for a proper performance and mangle someone?
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

I watched the game on catch up this morning without knowing score.

Hard lines USA – I was willing you to equalize as you deserved it, though at same time I guess Tim Howard did put in one of the performances of a lifetime.

Anyway, the England players should be made to sit down and watch that second half of ET performance by USA. That’s how to fight. Something we’ve lost along the way. It’s not that the other countries have better players but they have the hunger and desire. I’d love to see a list of comparable salaries for the England team against those of Algeria, USA, Costa Rica etc.. They ought to be ashamed.

I still have no idea who is going to win.

Anyone could win it really. Can’t believe Argentina have won 4 out of 4 as they’ve been worse than us at times.

Here’s my semi line up prediction

France, Colombia (via pens), Holland and Argentina (via pens)

Tough loss Howard was great as usual, our attack was lacking, and Fabian Johnson getting injured hampered us but Yedlin is FAST and shows potential as did Green with his free kick. Our midfield did not control the ball well. Gonzales was great in defense and never gave up.

This loss doesn't hurt me too bad, we knew we'd probably face Belgium IF we were to exit the Group of Death and they had beaten us in a fairly easy manner recently. Belgium right now remind me of Spain before they won the Euros and World Cup, they have a Golden Era of talent but they have yet to really piece it together to create a dominant side. They have all the players, all the tools, to be world beaters but have yet to reach their full potential...this match vs the US may have proven to be an acid test for them.

The US has yet (IMO) to have a "Golden Era" of talent, sure the Donovan, Johnson, Dempsey, Beasley, Howard "class" has been our best so far, but the future will get brighter for us.

Also Liverpool are supposed to buy Divock Origi and he looked pretty good although he didn't finish his chances.

Hard luck USA. Incredible extra time, the best 30 mins of this World Cup.
Man, your replacement right back is seriously rapid.

Howard was great and kept you in the match. Brilliant display from the US team. Belgium have great individual talent throughout the squad and that turned the game around having quality substitutes. Hope the US audiences pick up their interest in the game.

Great soccerball from Team USA but they were undone by an awesome victorification play by Lukaku in extra overtime.

I hope so too, but this is how I think it'll go:

(U.S. qualifies for the World Cup 2014)

    U.S. fans:
    Wow! Great!

(U.S. beats Ghana in first game of round play)

    U.S. fans:
    Yeah! Fantastic! I believe!

(U.S. ties mighty Portugal and Cristiano Ronaldo)

    U.S. fans:
Awesome! I believe that we will win!
I believe that we will win!

(U.S. loses to Germany but makes it out of the Group of Death)

    U.S. fans:
    Oh yeah! We're loving it!
Soccer is the best sport ever!!

(U.S. loses to Belgium and gets eliminated from the World Cup)

    U.S. fans:
Aww.... who cares about soccer anyway?
Hmm.... wonder who's winning between the Yankees and Red Sox...
