These things happen at this level, see Nadal yesterday.
Nadal has looked off in the first set of every match strangely, but always picked it up. Strange last match too. I guess Nadal is never as comfortable on grass, but Murray has no excuses with grass. I think he's still recovering from the back. He doesn't quite have the same fire.

No he isn't quite the same since. Not permanent I hope.
The split with Lendl is a factor too IMO as Andy seems to have reverted to the defense first approach of years gone by pre-Lendl. It's also well reported that Andy did not want Lendl to go at all.

That's a good point. I don't understand why a trainer going should revert you to doing things that were not quite as successful though. Surely learning would reinforce the positive inputs. Maybe though, I mean he was definitely playing much more soft tennis and in the process was getting bossed about. I fail to see how that is a good idea. Murray has so much experience now too. I'm sure it's recovery and he is still playing well within himself. It's been a while since surgery, so it makes you wonder about Murray. I think we can all agree he isn't quite the same major winner and it has been a few tournaments now.

I was just wondering the same. I guess Andy has a natural setting of defense, but that was overcome by certain drills etc Lendl would do over an over. 6 months without him now and perhaps his natural instincts have crept back in. I'm sure if it was purely a rational choice he could make he would choose to still be the more attacking and therefore better player he has been for the last two years. It must be more deeply ingrained than a conscious choice.
It is a bit of of a head scratcher.
How much the back surgery is a factor is hard to say. Perhaps that's now more mental than physical as it has been a while.

I'm not a huge tennis fan but I've just realised something

Where are the male American tennis players ?? Just realised they don't seem to have any contenders any more .

And the women too actually apart from Serena ??
Don't bully fat kids - they've got enough on their plate

With the World Cup on who needs Wimbeldon?

Hope Federer has one more major in him.
    That would be all.
