Canelo is a one trick pony and will only be effective early, that's ok against shit opposition hence why he has a good record, but it wont work against a good fighter like Lara, hes too predictable.

I wouldn't say a one trick pony but you are right about being effective only in the early rounds. He still fades down the stretch as we saw el Perro pick up the pace before the stoppage and Canelo was tired. I think its a toss up but I think Lara is gonna take it. Hell... even Austin Trout... generally a quiet unassuming guy and one you wouldn't think has a vested interest in the fight.... pretty much says Lara would have to put Canelo down to get the nod. Fellow boxers don't usually get into those discussions about other fights... which just goes to show how popular that opinion is.


I just hope Lara fights his fight and gives Canelo "Boxing Lesson # 2".

He has all the tools and basics to do to Alvarez what he has already run into, but he also coasts and can be and has been outhustled. He easily gives up southpaw. Alvarez is the most accurate and naturally bigger puncher Lara has faced but today I doubt Lara has the mentality or consistency to keep him off long term.
