Sad thing is this will definitely ppv.. Armum will not be putting his most familiar name. Pac could fight Butterbean and it will still be ppv. One thing that has left me baffled is when Floyd Senior made the comment that Floyd's would have no problem beating Pac at this point. Why run your mouth about such things if there remains 0 chance if it's happening. I would rather see Pac fight Prod only because Roach has been running his mouth again. I would hold of on my disgust hoping that we are do for a surprise over Pacs next fight. I'm one of those pactards always hoping for a great fight to be announced. Prod then Floyd, how's that for dreaming.

How is Prod a good match ? The guy is one dimensional and can not hang with boxers . Looking at Pacs last two fights he is not going to mix it up and will dominate and box the ears off Prod. Why no mention of the two younger Thurman or Porter ? Never in his career has Pac fought a really good undefeated young fighter in his prime !!

Think this will be closer than most expect, but Manny gets the edge.

While Pac SHOULD win...at this stage of his career nothing is certain. He clearly isn't the same fighter he used to be. Algiergi is no Marquez. But he is a skilled fighter with good heart. Certainly better "big" names for Pac to fight. But i think some of you are overselling this version of Pac. He hasn't
"destroyed" anyone in quite a while. His speed and power have clearly diminished compared to years ago.

Pac has just beaten the 2nd best welterweight Tim Bradley and he should be fighting the number 1.

Someone will say Pac is a pussy and we end up in a slanging match when in reality the promoters know we put up with 2nd rate fights and pay top doller prices.

To me, Porter is the bigger threat if the two based on style and mindset. I would be interested to see how he takes a punch vs Manny n how he handles Floyd's defense n skill, but he is a rough go for either of those guys at this point, or any point in their careers for that matter.

My question is: Why can't they fight each other now in order to develop name recognition n demand for those two to fight the winner? It was the same when Oscar was the cash cow in the late nineties. How many fights were lost when Quartey, Tito, Sweet Pea, Norris...etc., waited for the big money fight vice fighting each other? Manny and Floyd have both fought some tough competition to get to their level, Thurman n Porter should do the same.

Why not Thurman or Porter ? No longer can Pac fans say that neither has earned the right. Insted we get Manny continuallly fight light hitting fighters moving up in weight and old retreads . Some things just never change .......

I am not disagreeing with your point. All i am saying is that even though Algiergi is not a threat on paper...at this stage of Pac's career, it's still by no means a sure win.

How is fighting your long time sparring / in stable Top Rank fighter wanting the best opponent for Pacquiao? If you were a true believer in Pacquiao's ability you eoikd be clamoring for a Thurman or Porter match

Bradley was ranked #3 p4p when Pac fought him, so I wouldn't consider that a tune up fight at all. I'm with Manny giving Algeri a shot (as most seem to be), I just think having it on PPV is a complete rip off. They won't make much on PPV in my opinion, but Arum is a savvy guy so I could be wrong.

Vargas and Demarco in the 3rd round if anyone cares. Jessie Vargas is cut by right hand a head butt on review. Good fight.
