Not sure where this idea Haymon won't work with some promoters comes from but it isn't based in truth. Haymon doesn't like matching his guys up so he has to work with promoters. Matching his guys is a last resort or he does it in an everybody wins scenario. Promoters refusing to work with him isn't his fault. Just because they are stuck with mob taught methods and he's bringing new revenue streams he can offer fighters better deals. The old guard uses the "you don't have a choice method" and Al uses the "this is their deal, this is what I can offer you" method. Promoters don't want to offer a fair deal or think of new ways to generate money so they don't like Al. But they hurt themselves if they freeze him out.
I'm rather certain Al is just as evil as anyone else making money in the sport but his fighters get a larger percentage of the money they earn. Sometimes Al doesn't even take a cut. That's better than the rest.
