Well plenty of fighters attempt to goad Wlad into fights so they can get paid. Povetkin did it then backed off for 2-3 years until the fight actually happened, David Haye ran his mouth for 4 years, Dereck Chisora got his license suspended for acting like an asshole in hopes of a title shot or a shot vs Haye which is what he got in the end, and so I think Shannon is just doing what he thinks will get him one last big payday.

IMO Shannon would be best off lining up a shot for the WBC belt because everyone knows Wlad wants to unify and if Shannon has that belt he'd make more money HOWEVER I doubt Shannon could beat who stands in his way for that belt: Stiverne, Wilder, Jennings, Arreola, Perez.

Speaking of which Arreola-Perez would be a good match to make right now as both will need to rebound after losses.

Vitali did more damage then I thought. Fury vs Briggs could be an elimination for a shot though. And they both got big mouths and the trash talk would be entertaining as hell.

"I'm in shape baby, I'm in shape" Huge words to be coming from any professional athlete, that's heavy stuff. Dude is old and desperate, what does it say if that's your selling point at this stage. His last fight went 12 and was apparently a stinker as well, he doesn't actually have the engine to fight Wlad or anyone else half decent.

That said, it does seem like that was a bit of an arranged thing and Wlad might actually be entertaining the fight Hope not.
