Have to figure so with his style. Didn't even realize this is the same Chaves who fought Thurman a while back, that was a pretty good fight! He held his own until the mid-late rounds in that, and THurman is much better than Rios. This should be a war, and I could see Rios losing, hope he does as well.

I'm already a bit bored of him. Rios has become a bit of a predictable punching bag. Maybe a step down in quality will make him look better.

Brandon Who? Sorry for a second there I already forgot who he was. The climax of his career press-wise so far was not even the victory over Alvarado, its was the point where he got the spit shine from top rank while he was being groomed to be a sacrificial lamb to the come-backing pacquiao. Lets be honest, Rios's only hope in that fight was that Marquez has ruined Pacquiao the year before. Had they matched him in a brawl against the feather-fisted bradley instead of bradley trying to slug with Provo, both bradley and rios would more left in the tank and still be commanding audiences right now and they could have extended Rios' draw by pitting him against hard workers like peterson, or soto karass--before he got punchy too.(promotional wars aside)
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

Probably turn into a stepping stone, gatekeeper type of fighter. One could argue he's already one now.

If he is he's a very well paid one. Gatekeepers don't usually make close to a million dollars for a fight

As long as he doesn't come in as a fat middleweight this should be very fast paced entertaining. But I have a feeling Chaves will put a beating on Rios. Rios is irrelevant because of himself, not because he will again be fighting...or selling hotdogs on FNF cards.

I knew I remembered Chaves from somewhere n that's it. He did fight well and he's a natural 147. I too hope he beats chubby Rios.
