Groves did OK and will be better in his next fight. The guy was durable and Groves threw a lot of shots.
Froch and Bellow were spiteful commentators.

Groves slowed because he threw so many wasteful shots and put so much on them.
He needs to have it drummed in to him to relax and not tense up so much. Froch said the same about himself that he learnt not to load up on everything in the lead up to the Bute fight.
He also looked a bit confused at the defence of Rebrasse and just threw hooks for the sake of it like he had no idea how to lure Rebrasse in to committing to punching. What Groves did was akin to the fable of the wind and the sun trying to get the man to take his coat off. He needed to encourage him to open up so he actually had targets to counter.
If he slowed down, relaxed and stopped believing any shot he throws is likely to knock someone out he will do much better but I just don't think he's got the mental capacity to change.

I think Groves is a decent boxer with OK power and good hand speed. He is quite awkward and technically he does ask a few questions of his opponents.
He does appear vulnerable in the chin department, and i'm not including the Frock knockout in that, as I think anyone would have gone down after that punch. He was vulnerable against Anderson in the past.
I thought he had stamina issues, but I stand corrected after he just want 12 busy rounds and threw nearly a thousand punches ..... Albeit that Degrasse never really managed to put him under intense pressure.
He does have the gift of the gab and he sells lots of tickets. He really gets Frochs goat, and I've been disappointed at the way Carl reacts to him every time.
In a proper world, I don't really think he would be world championship material to be honest ..... But with at least 4 world champions in thousands of weight divisions, many of which change hands like a wresting belt, he is statistically likely to become a titleholder!
If God wanted us to be vegetarians, why are animals made of meat ?
Agree with all of the above. As far as Groves goes, he did ok Saturday and Rebrasse was tougher than people gave him credit for.
I reckon all Groves's issues come from his Stamina and conditioning. In The 2nd Froch fight , Groves held back cos he wasn't sure he could do the 12 rounds. As he tires, his punch resistance suffers. And on Saturday, he couldn't put Rebrasse away and later in the fight, you sensed that he could get caught.
He needs to get a top conditioner in that will gear his training and nutrition to building his stamina without losing Strength and Power. For the record, I reckon Khan has similar problems .

I don't like Groves at all but he did win all the rounds and threw nearly 1000 punches, that's not bad for a 168 fighter. He looked solid and did what he had to do to get the UD.

His stamina needs to improve I agree, he's a good puncher but Rebrasse was tough but nothing
special, George used the double jab well but he found it difficult, to catch Rebrasse clean.
Yes a good 12 round comeback fight, maybe we all expected him to win inside the distance, instead
he had to work for it, but 12 rounds will do him some good.

Groves is quality, he continously improves, he will be in the mix at top level for a few years yet......
yeah and he has just lost 2 huge fights by knockout
could an exceptional performance be expected?
