If you do that you lose balance what moves the back in balance are the feet and knees. Hips only move 6% to protect the coxxys its the knees that do most of the work. Stand with your ankles and knees locked straight try and move your hips. Understand the mechanics of walking, 1st thing we do standing as a baby.

Hi Everyone,
Grey said:
Foundationally (and traditionally with many a trainer), a "properly" executed left hook is generally performed by pivoting on the ball of the lead left foot while simultaneously shifting your weight to the rear right foot in a synergistic manner. Now, while I agree in principle with this and, in fact, teach beginners this way, I believe that after relative "unconscious competency" has been attained, one must go outside this box to truly functionalize its adaptability and versatility in full-on combat application (be it in boxing, kickboxing, MMA, or street fighting). With that said, I think it's important to develop the ability to throw a left hook off the back foot AND off the front foot because each has its place in the scheme of spontaneous, unpredictable, resistive combat. You see most guys now throwing the left hook off the front foot. In this fight, you'll see garza throwing it off his back foot, the weight going there first.
Watch the following clips of three renowned left hookers and you'll see what I mean. You'll see them throw left hooks off the rear foot in some cases AND off the lead foot in others. It just depends on their relative position and "flow" in relationship to their opponent's position and movement at the moment.
Anyway...
Take Care,
Lito

I got it both toes are pointing to 3o'clock the rear toe is pointed to 3o'clock to prevent the right hand from dropping. Question is if the rear toe is at 3o'clock starting out where is the lead toe pointing too?
