    Bellew is nothing at CW.

He just beat a guy who started his career as a welterweight and he couldn't even stop him after the wav Kovalev destroyed him.

Bellew looked just as weak as Cleverly and he looked uncoordinated.

By round 8 they both looked one good punch away from sleeping.

Imagine David Haye in with either?
    Imagine Holyfield in with either?

Come on play the game, these 2 guys are below par, well marketed European level fighters.

The division is weak and he just made some noise by beating Clev whether hindsight says the Welshman was overrated or not. Not sure why Cleverly did not throw the right hand but you have to be pretty good at the pro level to stay in a fight with one hand. We all marveled at Loma when he did it Saturday against the Manny doppleganger. At least I did.

Bellew is like a Wepner or Tex Cobb in a heavyweight division with no A-listers. I can see the guy winning a title in this division and he's got that London draw.

Its funny because Cruiser is one of the expansion divisions that actually made sense and yet they went and changed it to 200 pounds in 2003. I remember at the time thinking they did it for James Toney The did it apparently to compensate for the growing heavyweight division but I'm not sure its panned out. Its created two mediocre divisions instead of one.

The whole division causes narcolepsy not just last Saturday.

I kind of like it when regular mugs like him make some good coin with all the coddling division wide going on and this tiny group of primadonnas controlling things.

Hey man I like seeing underdogs win as much as the next guy.

But even Hearn must have been holding back laughter through gritted teeth when he was saying "On that performance we get a world title shot and we're gonna make them come to us".

My stomach churned as Hearn fairly has to be positive and play it off as a great fight, but in a realistic sense he must have been thinking to himself "how do we market him now?"

    He looked average.

It's not ok saying "It's a lean division standard wise", or "Boxing's a business."
I'll bet there are at least 20 Cruiserweights worldwide that would not only beat Bellew, but put him to sleep! so why does he deserve a shot in his back yard. Basically, he's a 3 fight novice at this weight, and on Saturday , he never beat a cruiserweight (by his own admission) . He never came up to this weight after mopping up the weight below, he came up after getting KTFO by "A MIDGET!"
He (and every other fucker) should earn their shot by beating people ranked above them.
Call me old fashioned, but I think to be called a "WORLD CHAMPION", you should at least be in the top 6 in the world. is that too much to ask?

I agree with you save the 20 that could beat him. That division is a freakin wasteland. Sad enough in fact that him and Huck are most likely the biggest money fight in the division just based on that Cleverly win. Either in Germany or London. And lets get real, he's not going to turn down a shot that as you say he does not deserve because its in Germany. The man could pull in 7 figures for going there.

Secondly, magical ranking placements have been happening since the Wba split up and the Wbc was formed. Nothing new about his rankings. Rankings are purchased just as much as they are granted by achievements. Look at Wider or Chavez Jr.
