Saunders amateur experience is being used too much to gauge how he will do.

As Eubank said, he was a point scorer. Look at Audley Harrison! His amateur experience will not help him. Its toughness needed in the pros and there are lots now that will testify to Eubanks toughness in sparring at least against top bigger fighters.

He has been regularly sparring the likes of Carl Froch, Nathan Cleverly, George Groves, David Haye, DeGale, Chad Dawson, Montell Griffin and Zab Judah.

Froch called him in to push him in the biggest fight of his career and he did push one of the toughest super middles out there. He dropped Groves, he gave Cleverly two broken ribs a couple of weeks before the first Bellew fight! Eubank is strong and tough and has learnt how to fight like a pro against the best. Its just that we haven't seen it.

I posted a link to a video interview between Kugan Cassius and Johnny Nelson and Nelson really rates Eubank from all the reports he's heard about the sparring. He said he hasn't heard one negative report. However this doesn't take away the question mark of how Eubank will deal with the pressure of a competitive bout in front of a booing crowd. He didn't get booed at the weigh in but Saunders got the biggest reception out of all the fighters there. I expect Eubank to walk out of the ring tonight with everyones respect.

If BJS can take a shot , he wins UD.

Only 10 amateur fights for Eubanks has to be taken into consideration, as does the fact he had never fought past eight rounds.

I hope Eubanks does emerge as a future star, but those two facts need to be taken into account

Also the sparring thing is being overplayed.

I was just listening to Ambrose Mendy and Spencer Fearon saying Patrick Mendy and James DeGale stood Eubank Jr on his head.

Fury is clearly rattled and for all his fighting talk I can see him retiring on his stool if Del boy keeps up his usual pressure and Tyson has the lurgy. Saunders is not at all fazed and was pulled away at the stare down, so I think he is ready to outwork Eubank to a clear UD. He is fast and slick and won't allow Eubank to dictate anything.

    Thats bullshit.

I think it was a video of Mendy I saw him sparring with a few years ago and he was far from being "stood on his head"!! Every video of seen of Jr he looks strong and no matter how big the opponent he has been able to push them around.

I've backed Billy Joe and Chisora (and Frankie Gavin for what it's worth). But I've also got a saver bet on Eubank by KO.

Came to the conclusion that the only way Eubank wins is by KO. Billy Joe is not just the better boxer he has a much better punch output. I think Eubank's power is being overrated and Saunders has never been on the deck. Billy Joe to win on PTS.

Chisora looks a million times better than the last fight with Fury. He'll be able to sustain the pressure this time, which might get him knocked out, but i'll take Fury's chin and dodgepot head on at the price.

Not only did Mendy handle Eubank with ease he wasn't even given time to warm up, Eubank had been warming up for 45 mins.

The Eubank's got pissed off with DeGale because not only was he embarrassing young Eubank he was trying to corrent his flaws at the same time. The old man didn't like it.

I'm just repeating what they said. Don't shoot the messenger.

There is a video out there somewhere of the Mendy sparring. Im sure it was Mendy. He looked shorter than Eubank, would that be right?

The video doesnt seem to be there any more but this comment comes up which sort of tells you how it went.

Don't listen to Ambrose Mendy, he doesn't like Eubank Sr. Theres a video of him arguing with Eubank after one of Eubanks fights.

Really looking for this card tonight. Some decent fights, the two big ones have some genuine needle, and plenty of action on the undercard too. Eubank Jr has looked good against limited opposition, I hope he can step up when the competition becomes tougher.
I think the bet of the night has to be Skeete v Gavin to go the distance. I just don't see either man having the power to knock out the other.

At the weigh in Frankie Gavin got absolutely no applause or cheers after he had weighed in and the lad sat right next to me shouted out "youv got no fans" and everyone laughed. Frankie gave a grin but I actually felt pitty for him amd started clapping for him!

Fury will have a hell of a time early on and may have to survive a knockdown but Chisora will wear down

Mendy is a tall fella, 6ft minimum.

"chris looks nice and solid there, his conditioning is second to none."

That proves it then. Obviously the other guys that saw Mendy schooling him are lying, or maybe don't know anything about boxing. Mendy was Eubank and jr's adviser when he turned pro.

I think you may be making his height up a bit.

Just went to look for his height and its not listed but plenty of mentions on forums of him being short for super middle!
