Alvarez all day long. Bigger, stronger, faster, hungrier and more likely to be favoured by the judges.

A few years ago maybe Cotton, but I can't see it now.

I hope they fight just to force Floyd to fight Manny. I hope cotto out points Saul, he could do it.

    "Bigger".... sure.
    "Stronger" .... probably.
    "Faster" .... not so sure.
"Hungrier" .... why not? Canelo has yet to make the results equal to the hype.

    "Better"? No.

But in addition, Canelo's younger and will get better.
Miguel is older and nearing the end of his HOF career.

Yet.... with a good game plan, "Cotton" could foreseeably take a good swabbing to Canelo.

I'd give cotto a slight edge. It's going to be pretty close though.

Floyd was supposed to do a cake walk over Maidana. At least that's what I thought.

On paper, Cotto is at this point fighting a bigger, stronger, younger version of himself. Unless Roach somehow changes him into Benitez over night then you have to give the edge to Alvarez.

But what of the intangibles? The fight is almost bigger then both of their fights with Floyd in many ways and Alvarez still comes to a complete stop to throw a power shot. The atmosphere, the pressure. Maybe Cotto switch hits? These are the kinds of things that can lead to the unexpected.

If I were a betting man I suppose I'd take Alvarez even though I'd be cheering for Cotto.

Ps. The weight thing again is ridiculous.

Cotto needs to vacate that title.

I don't think Canelo is that good at all. I think Cotto is overrated (at this point of his career), but I think he is too experienced n versatile for Canelo. I'm betting on Cotto...

He could, I would love nothing better than for him to out fox Canelo and beat him to the punch. But I just can't see it.

I see Cotto get marked up badly and looking a right mess come the end of the fight. I think Cotto is slower now, much slower than he was.

I can't believe I'm saying this but tonight I lean Cotto. The constant question and need to see from Alvarez is where is his fire? For all the size, the youth and the push...I'd love to see him get some tenacity and kick in the door on his advantages more! He plays the methodical boxer..the wait and watcher and isn't all that agile doing it. Even Angulo was landing wobble balls near end while resembling a guy just tied to the bumper of a monster truck. I'm not totally convinced he can box his way over Cotto and equally not convinced he has faced the punch and mentality of a Cotto, one he certainly had not with defensive minded Lara, Trout and Mayweather. Then again Canelo will top in around 180 so who knows

I'd like Cotto to win but it seems more likely that Canelos size will be a huge advantage. I see it competitive for the first half of the fight till Cotto gases and goes on survival mode.

90% chance that would be the case, and if so..... it's a mighty big hill to climb for someone whose best weights were 147-154.
