1923: Gene Tunney W 15 Harry Greb, NYC. Retains US Light Heavyweight Title. Referee: Lou Magnolia.

The consensus was that Tunney won 9 rounds, Greb four, and two were even. Tunney mounted a body attack that allowed him to dominate the fight from rounds 8 to 14. The first seven rounds were evenly fought and Greb rallied strongly to win the 15th. Greb landed many more punches but Tunney’s were harder and cleaner. There were no knockdowns. The 3rd fight between these two.

Harry never asked for no damn catchweight when fighting this all time great light hev that was 25 years ahead of his time.

Yup. It was right about that time or shortly after that he started to plod in looking to land the shot and fell in love with his power. His old man was just as much to blame. Problem is it worked 95% of the time. Oscar should have been a message to Tito to fire dad.
