1923: Gene Tunney W 15 Harry Greb, NYC. Retains US Light Heavyweight Title. Referee: Lou Magnolia.
The consensus was that Tunney won 9 rounds, Greb four, and two were even. Tunney mounted a body attack that allowed him to dominate the fight from rounds 8 to 14. The first seven rounds were evenly fought and Greb rallied strongly to win the 15th. Greb landed many more punches but Tunney’s were harder and cleaner. There were no knockdowns. The 3rd fight between these two.
Harry never asked for no damn catchweight when fighting this all time great light hev that was 25 years ahead of his time.

1958: Archie Moore KO 11 Yvon Durelle, Montreal. Retains World Light Heavyweight Title. Moore is down 3-times in the first and once in the 5th. Moore fought his way back, and broke Young Stribling’s knockout record (126), by stopping Durelle in the 11th-round.

2003: Promoter Don King agrees to pay former World Super Welterweight champion Terry Norris $7.5-million to settle a lawsuit in which Norris alleged that his manager, Joe Sayatovich, and King conspired to pay him less than what he should have made for fights after Sayatovich borrowed $200,000 from King in 1994.
