Max Schmeling KO's Cassius Clay in Round 10.
Behind on points after 8-Rounds, Max Schmeling rattled Cassius in
Round 9, when he caught the fleet-footed Clay with a big right-hand
to the mouth at the {2:40 Mark}.
Cassius wobbled back to the Ropes, and the German moved in and
slammed a 'dazed' Clay with '2' big right-hands to the head
and a short left-hook to the heart.
Clay then sagged into the Ropes, and Max unloaded with a '7-Punch'
barrage to the head as Clay was draped over the middle Rope-strand.
The bell rang ending Round 9, saving Clay from getting Knocked out.
But the reprieve was only temporary.
Cassius came out for Round 10 looking like a 'drunk', as he wobbled over
to the right-side Neutral-Corner still on shaky-pins.
Max, realizing that Clay was still 'out of it', charged like a Half-Track chasing
a fleeing Infantryman.
Max bombarded Clay with nearly a 'dozen' punches to head, as Clay's head
bounced back and forth like a bobble-doll.
Clay then sank to his knee's, but not before Max 'smashed his face' with a
vicious right-hook that sent nearly all of Clay's teeth flying into the Ringside
seats.
The Referee - John Thomas did not bother to count, as Clay's face was
buried into the canvas and in a puddle of his own blood at the {0:30 Mark}
of Round 10.
It took Cassius Clay's handlers nearly 15-Minutes to get their fighter to his
feet.
