Stiverne has shown in the past that he can be extremely, shall we say...... umm.... "un-busy". If that Stiverne decides to show up against Wlad, we're in for another very long night. Wlad will maintain his distance, and it's off on another cure for insomnia.
Deontay is the "wild card" here (excuse the pun). We can assume he'll fail the first time he gets rocked, but it remains an unseen and unknown supposition.

I am really excited about this as I want Wilder to win. I want him to make a couple of defences and then go for Wlad.
I really hope he does not end up like Seth Mitchell.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
For Wlad-Haye the guy doing the talking (Haye) should have put on a better show, Wlad said 'I'm taking him 12 and I'll stop him then'....Haye was all "I'll decapitate you and your brother!" and then he fought like a little bitch. Wlad did exactly what he said he would do bar the last second KO.
Deontay Wilder has not fought good or even average opponents yet, Stiverne CAN be lazy in the ring but once he's hit he's one of those guys who throws right back. Neither of them are cultured boxers, they are brawlers...Stiverne has a shot because he has power and a good chin, Wilder just has power and size. Wlad has better technical skills in the ring, he has more experience, he's not going to get caught up in the build up to a fight....these guys are new to this whole thing it will be a rude awakening for them, I'm sorry Titofan

I'm sorry too, Lyle. Sorry that for the past 10 years we have had a combination of worthless bums parading up to face Wlad in the ring, and of Wlad retaining the memory of those KO losses only too vividly in his mind, to the point where some of his fights have been comical....... one guy scared shitless of the big Ukrainian champion, and the champion praying his chin isn't grazed even by accident.
Maybe Wilder-Stiverne will usher in the beginning of a new era, where up and coming young heavyweights can restore the excitement to the division, and bring in new fans.
@TitoFan LOL come off it, the guy has taken many numerous hard punches throughout his career against guys far harder hitting than any other champ had to face. Only Lewis and Vitali can boast similar.
The Wladimir weak chin is basically a myth! All of WK's really good opponents and even a few strong but lesser ones have managed to sometimes land power punches on him and he hardly ever goes down.
12 times total in 66 fights, average opponent 237lbs.
6 separate opponents
8 separate occasions, in 66 fights at ultraHW.
It's a joke!
"Enough with the games mate! Your messing with the Grand Master!"

I think Stiverne is a bit overrated and is going to get tooled by Deontay.

No disagreement on the first part. There are whispers though that Wilder lacks a chin, which can be confirmed by the Harold Sconiers fight and that knockout with headgear on in the amateurs. No one makes it out of the first round to find out though. Stiverne should prove savvy enough to get to the middle grounds and he packs a punch. If the fight goes past the first few rounds, it'll be interesting. With that said, Stiverne has been stopped before too.

I can't help but think about that leaked footage of Wilder staggering around like a baby Giraffe after Haye tagged him in sparring whilst training for the Fury fight that never came off. This and the fact that Wilder is for the first time taking a real step up in competition worry me. I actually want Wilder to win as I believe that he would be the "better" HW champion (although we all know he wouldn't really be that) because I think the perfect record and the fact that the guy is certainly marketable are something that would benefit the division and ultimately the sport.
I haven't been on here for a good while but the traditional glamour division is certainly heading in the right direction at the minute which is a lot more than I've been able to say for a long time. The fact that we have got an unbeaten fighter with a perfect KO record fighting for a version of the HW title is a great thing but I think I'd have to go with Stiverne to pull this one out of the bag and probably very early. He certianly seems to have the better chin and he has genuine power too and I really do wonder how Wilder will handle these 2 qualities!
I hope that on sunday morning I'm thinking to myself "well Wilder proved me wrong, he really can hang with decent opposition" but I just feel he is too raw and one dimensional and will probably be exposed.
I am definitely looking forward to this one though and the one thing that cannot be taken away from Wilder is his power, if he lands right on Stiverne he can certainly take him out and Stiverne did take quite a few shots from Arreola before he caught him!
Wilder's gonna be putting his championship belt on after this fight....
