I'm giving Wilder the benefit of the doubt where his engine is concerned. He covered the 12 rounds, threw a load of leather and was still going at the end.
There was a period after about 4 rounds I think when I wondered if he was going to wilt, he certainly looked like he was out of ideas a bit. That's got to be natural though for a guy that's clumped everyone he's fought in a few rounds. Sooner or later you'll run into someone who wont go over. No matter how many times he would have been told this or reminded himself he still has to cross that bridge mid fight. Ideally that would have come before fighting for a title but Wilder passed the test when it mattered most.
