Nice rational balanced view there There are plenty of hunters who shoot for nothing more than the thrill of killing, and the ego boosting buzz of trophy hunting, and have absolutely no interest in the protection of even endangered species, but it would be ridiculous of me to suggest that anybody who hunted with respect and awareness of their prey and who made sure to use it wisely were the same as those people. State and corporate sponsored pollution is something that committed environmentalists have drawn attention to for many years, whatever you think about global warming, so it's a bit daft to call them ALL a bunch of hypocrites.

Name some hunters that shoot JUST for thrill and ego, please. Also in hunting as opposed to Environmentalism, the rights of average everyday people aren't trod on, you can drive cars, you can build houses, you can hunt or not hunt, you can buy from small farms or factory farms, it's all your choice. With Environmentalism it's about limiting choice, raising prices, and most importantly it's about limiting access and control be it of food supplies, transportation, what have you. So for Al Gore the A#1 big shot of all things "Anthropogenic Global Warming" to preach this bullshit about how we're running out of time to "save the Earth" while he's flying from nation to nation on a PRIVATE JET and being driven around in MULTIVEHICLE MOTORCADES it's hypocritical, it's dumb, and frankly it's going to get to the point where it's extremely dangerous as in PEOPLE WILL DIE.....how many people do hunters kill? I know quite a few, they don't kill people....as a matter of fact a lot of my hunter friends donate meat that they have harvested to those who are bad off. And as a point about the health of said meat, venison is 90 some % fat free, it is the leanest of red meats.

But hey, listen to Al Gore, follow the greenies, do what you like...but just as with the Second Amendment you keep your hands off of MY rights, I harm nobody in doing what I do.

Why the hell would I listen to Al Gore ? The man is an eejit. I eat venison and have shot rabbits myself in the past but that doesn't make me the same as somebody who goes and shoots Rhinos ffs. You seem to live in cloud cuckoo land yourself sometimes Lyle if you really think that you can take extreme examples of a movement and pretend that they define everyone else. If you think that a big company dumping chemicals and waste into the sea or local rivers is not treading on the rights of everyday people then you are sadly misled. When surfers fed up with wading through sewage confront the water company and campaign to change the law then that is environmentalism and that is in the interest of everyone who uses those beaches. Where I live such action is essential, because we rely on tourism. When campaigners draw attention to companies polluting rivers and killing the fish that local people charge others for fishing rights, the same pollutants that kill wildlife people travel down to photograph, then that is environmentalism. That is protesting the rights of current and future generations to enjoy that wildlife. Yes I get Al Gore is a hypocrite and those that have never killed meat to eat and yet eat battery farmed fast food are hypocrites and I understand fully that wild meat is the healthiest and most ethical you can eat, if you choose to, because it lives a natural and free life. I get all that because I live in a rural part of England where it's traditional to fish and shoot game etc. That doesn't make me any less of an environmentally aware person, if anything it makes me more so. So yes I am proud not ashamed to be green. Alternative energy is a viable option for the future and reducing our dependence on oil is a sensible thing even if you don't believe in Global warming. Yes you have rights, but not the right to f*%k the place up for future generations.
