It sounds sinister to me. The Internet should be left alone and government should go away.

America already has net neutrality and the government already regulates the internet. Net neutrality just means that the telecom companies can't run a two or three speed internet and let established companies prevent new ones from entering the marketplace. If there hadn't been net neutrality when the internet first started you'd be getting your news and entertainment from yahoo and lycos would be your search engine.

Here's former Daily Show Senior British correspondent John Oliver, who now has his own weekly Daily Show on HBO, explaining net neutrality.

Ah yes...The Daily Show, what fair balanced "reporting" they do. Would not have it any other way than you to be against me in this debate.....is there EVER a time where you say "There certainly are TOO MANY government regulations"? Is that possible for you to admit? And HBO....really....really.....although Bill Maher has come around to a rational thought process regarding Islam and it's role in global terrorism, but alas he's still very VERY left leaning as I am sure John Oliver is seeing how he A) Used to be on The Daily Show and B ) Is British....thereby making him pretty much on par with Vladimir Lenin

The government has regulated the internet every day you've been on in. This isn't about government regulation, it's about preventing the telecom companies making even more money at the expense of consumer choice. When you talk about "government regulation of the internet" you're just parroting the telecom lobby's pr talking points.

Oh alrighty allow me to retort....you're laying the argument before us that the Internet is already regulated to an extent and has been from day one. Well SIR if that's the case then why is more regulation needed? Secondly, if you're asking consumers to choose between who they want to provide a service to them ISP's or The Government who the holy fuck do you think the average person would pick to run things? THE ISP's why? Because they are easily held accountable for their bullshit via the power of the purse AND so long as there is not 1 single ISP competition will drive low costs and better service.....has the government ever EVER done that?

    .....and drop the mic

Watch the video. It'll answer your questions. If you don't think it did watch it again.
