Haye was never a wasted talent. He was a very good fighter who beat some big names. At least he's not broke and homeless. He still has all his marbles. He has done the right thing not to end up like Holyfield or Toney who still has to fight to pay bills. Big Haye fan and have been for years.
Holy & Tony's boxing life spans over several decades.
88 fights 23 years championships in MW, SMW, LHW, CW & fought at HW- has been named P4P in his life. Money can be made & lost, but U cant take away those accolades.
Point being: 23 years of fighting, yeah money has to be managed right, but whose to say where Haye will be when he is 45ish. That's a decade away M8.
27 years for Holy who won a major title in his 12th pro fight- cleaned out CW division, Has been named P4P the best. Beat the beast Tyson, has been etched in the boxing books for greatest fights with Bowe & did this in less than 50 fights.
He has been in more title fights than Haye has had fights in his smallish 10 year career with what? 28 fights? How many Top 5 fighters has he fought, let alone champs? I won't denigrate the European title he has held, but that's not a world title belt be it alphabet. & the fighters he's beaten? Have already been beaten.
Haye is a disgrace. With talent, makes it all the more punkified. He called the HW division a disgrace, then puss'd out vs Wlad... Dude really made Wlad look like a heluva champ.
Wlad was already a great champ, but Haye just proved how he could never be a fighter on his level.
