Yet a slower, shitter, featherfisted boxer of even smaller proportions, far less athletic and skilled and possibly even chinnier (Moorer) DID make it. In fact he even became HW champ.
David Haye would have been one of Lennox's better opponents and would have thrashed most of the 90's HW's beyond any doubt. He was an excellent boxer. How can you take that much away from him?

True Moorer proved chinny- but thats because he had a bangers mentality. Far too many bangers in the 90's who would've pressed Haye into a fight. Haye can outrun a giant of Wlad & Valuev, but the 90's HW's could cut the ring off. Haye loses 2 outta every 4 fights vs U pickem.
Lewis thrashes Haye.
Michael Moorer wasn't a bad fighter at all, he would have given Haye a fight but featherfisted? He was a good solid puncher, power in speed and combinations....he just fought stupidly vs Foreman.
Moorer was a guy I wished fought other top contenders at the time.

Moorer suffered with a not great chin.
They are a funny old thing, chins.
Some fighters can move up through the weights and take the best anyone has to offer.
Some fighters chins improve as they go up. Cotto for instance. Cunningham is taking heavyweight shots better than he took cruiser weights.
You have to wonder whether these fighters must be fighting well under a safe weight in the divisions they are in.
Maybe there should be a new world belt called the natural weight belt where a fighters BMI or hydration is measured and there is a safe limit they are allowed to weigh in at.

Moorer was a great puncher AT LHW..
He was a HW featherfist.
I don't think Moorer could have beaten many of the SHW punchers of the 90's, I think they would have ran through and flattened him.
He was good against Foreman because he was so slow (until he got tagged) and against Holyfield who was a small HW and also not a big puncher at HW.
Good fighter, but he'd never hang with Haye ever.

I think David Haye at his best could beat Rahman and maybe Holyfield. Very few have his speed and power. People who say Tyson Fury could beat haye are falling for the Fury hype.
None of the other 90's boxers besides Lewis could move like Wladimir.
Yeah I am sure guys like Rahman and Holyfield would make mincemeat of Haye like a better sparring session. You fool!
We're talking about the HW with some of the fastest and sharpest performance in boxing the world has ever seen here. That's not licking Haye's ass either, that's just stating fact.
