Humberto 'La Chiquita' Gonzalez vs. Michael 'Little Hands of Stone' Carbajal I

What a fight I remember watching this fight when I was 12 my jaw hit the floor, when the fight was over my uncle got up from the floor cuz thats where he always sat on fight nights hit the rewind button and we watched it over.

Thanks for the recommendation Cutme, cc in another 24! Do you know a good place to find it?

Also, for anyone that uses itunes you can download some Showtime bouts on it now for $1.99 each. All they have so far is Castillo-Corrales I and II and Calzaghe-Lacy. Needless to say I downloaded all 3! Good quality (though not near dvd quality) and pretty fast download times compared to anyother place. If anyone else here hasn't seen Castillo-Corrales I then I suggest you drop $2 and get it off itunes so you can enjoy it fully instead of squinting at blurry youtube uploads!

wow I didn't know Showtime did that! It makes you wonder though how the movie studios can justify charging probably $15 dollars to download a movie when you get a great fight for $2. I know which I'd rather see.

Castillo vs Corrales was described by Jim Watt, the annoying scot from UK boxing coverage as "The greatest fight I have ever seen!" As time goes on it's dawned on me that these words are true, as a fan who stayed up till 4am watching this live, I can say its one of the greatest nights of my life, unforgetable, the fight had everything, from the way Corrales chose to brawl, Castillo's legs dipping as he took bombs, something we've never seen before, low blows going amiss, Castillo knocking corrales's head around, then as he looks to be fading knocking corrales almost out twice, which seemed to be a last ditch effort because he was spent, Corrales finding something nobody though was left and stopping it with seconds to go in the round.... What more could you ask for!?! One thing that is significant about that fight is, Castillo never got knocked off his feet. How I don't know, I respect him for how he fights, but his unprofessionalism makes me sick. Castillo vs Corrales isn't just about 2 fights and the one that didn't happen, its a chapter in boxing, a sign of the times and is more bitter-sweet than a lemon covered in caramel.
Remember the good old days, we miss you Marco!

This fight is in my top 3 fights of alllll time,I have never ever seen anything like it in my life, and that 10th round, wow??!!?!!? I was listening to an interview with Dan Goosen,Diego's trainer and he said he was glad that these guys did not fight each other again,he said it was like 25 fights in 1 and also said that after the fight,Castillo did not leave his house for 1 MONTH>?! Corrales was also in hospital and when they took him to hospital ,Goosen said he urinated a BUCKET of blood, and he showed the size of the bucket with his hands,it was A BIG bucket?!

Just a note,Goosen also said he told Corrales he beat onw of the best Welterweights on the planet and when asked about JLC's move to 140,he said there was no way he would make that weight either, for the second fight,Dan said he was struggling with 140,he was laying down at the weigh in with a towel on his face, his eyes were in the bag of his skull and he was INCREDIBLY pale!?!

CC Mick, another fight in my top5 was Carbajal and Gonzalez,I really liked Carbajal and what a way to end you career,by koing Arce. That fight was awesome too,I LOVE Carbajals reaction when he knocked Gonzalez down and this was after he got knocked down twice and had lost practically the whole match!

Anyone seen the next 2 fights of their trilogy?

I've seen all 3, but neither compares to the 1st like in most trilogys. The second was a bit shocking to see how Gonzalez was able to win rd. after rd. I'm still not sure what happend to Carbajal that night my uncles told me at that time and even now when we talk that he was already starting to have problems within his team & personal (Alcohol). Don't quote me. The 3rd match was a good fight close fight Carbajal was more in tact and boxed around more then usual, IMO Gonzalez was the agressor and the one who looked for the fight and took the initiation.
    Great trilogy.

What do you search under on itunes to find the bouts? Can't find anything under e.g. Calzaghe, Castillo etc but maybe that's cos I'm in the uk?

Carbajal Gonzalez is incredible. Another epic I recommend is Danny 'Little Red' Lopez v Mike Ayala from 1979 - that might be my favourite fight ever.

Fuck. It's just not happening - have had this problem with iTunes before - couldn't download Don Henley 'Boys of Summer' on the UK version.

    (slightly embarrassing to admit that)
