People are going to root for hometown boys, it's only natural.
Brits had a right to hate Lennox because even though he was a Brit, he learned to box in Canada and won a gold medal for Canada

Exactly this - none of my friends or me got behind him for a while as we just saw him as an imposter really but he won over the general public but was still way behind Bruno for example with his fanbase.
Your average guy on the street never really took to Lennox for ages until he started winning belts![]()

as a young kid I disliked Hagler. Knew nothing about boxing then and he just looked like the bad evil guy
I loved Leonard as he was a pretty boy smooth talker
Now years later and more mature and learning bout the fighters rises I have nothing but respect for Marvin and he is one of my favourites
Would love to meet him
Don't bully fat kids - they've got enough on their plate
Joe Calzaghe
Felt he wanted to go out like Sven Ottke- fighting his countrymen.
1.When he whooped Left Hook- I was impressed.
2. Beating Kessler, is when I started to respect him
3. The more Bhop started to win---since he lost to Cal, the more I appreciated Joe didn't beat a shell of Hop like he did RJJ. Joe outpointed a legend.
Zab Judah- that ass whoopin' Cotto put on him & also the low blow Cotto did-showed Judah grew as a man, from a man-child. In his defeat to Miguel, I gained a (bit) of respect for Zab "mental-midget" Judah.
Tim Bradley, he should have lost that prod fight on stoppage but the beating the guy took and his ability to come back and box prod off him was something to behold. I really like the guy now.
