Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.

Everyone in this picture had something except for Tyrell Biggs. The drugs and weak punching power got him. But if he was a LH he would have been extraordinary.

Cuba boycotted the 84 Olympics. It's very likely that the likes of Teofilo Stevenson who won Heavyweight gold at the previous three Olympics would have figured even at his advancing age, alongside other Cubans.

The Soviet Union also boycotted the 84 Olympics and they always have some good fighters. Maybe USA 84 would have beaten anyone who showed up no matter what. Who knows ?

But their achievements definitely have asterisk on them. Unlike USA 76 team who won gold when all the major boxing nations were there.

It was crazy some guys on that team did crumble. Williams, Vinson, Aiken and poor ol Bennett. Even in the beginning you knew he wasn't going that far. Every time he was hit fast and hard he looked like a guy who was standing there jamming a metal fork into a light socket Brian Viloria has to be the saving grace. Still going very strong.

Don't forget Rocky Juarez and Jermain Taylor. lolol... and, yes, I like the Hawaiian punch. I had him to go all the way for gold that year.

Tyson couldn't fight as an amateur too well, but another story as a pro.
