It's a joke and has confused the shit out of me with all these new titles. I have some friend who are just casual fans that want to watch Mayweather v Pac and one of them asked me who is the champ and I had to explain all the belts and the rest of the lark. poor guy was confused lol.

I don't think people even care about the belts anymore. I think every weight class has a consensus #1, and that's really all that matters. I can't be bothered to remember who holds what belt in each weight class, let alone who holds an interim title.
