If Rommel had unleashed his Panzers on Omaha beach we, the Americans may very well have been repelled.

Doesn't excuse toto's thorough analysis of the outcome of the fight. Still, Rommel was respected by his Allied adversaries and one of the gentleman Prussian generals of that war. And I still think corvette is more of a racist than he is.
