Agreed 100% that this fight SHOULDN'T be the #1 of all time, because it's happening 5 years too late and both guys have clearly slowed down and are at the end of their careers.

But the fact is in terms of public interest and revenue generated, this fight will still be the biggest of all time.

are they at the end of their carears tho

mayweathers fights against MM suggest he might be slowing down a bit but it wasnt that long ago he had one of the biggest wins of his carears and best performances against alverez

Pac just breazed past bradley, who batter marquez just before that

They're both already talking about retiring though eh? Floyd says he's done with the sport and it's not fun anymore, Pac wants to be a politician and hasn't knocked anyone out in 6 years. Neither of them have more than a couple fights left I'd say, unless they go broke in retirement and pull a Joe Louis

Money wise sure but thats it. Where you place that in historical perspective is based on ones standards. As far as actually being meaningful in any way from a purely boxing perspective it does not make the grade. Should Manny win it means a little more but I'd rank it in the area of Robinson/Armstrong only in this case neither fighter is the best fighter in the world today. Neither near their prime really. Biggest hype award of all time also.

Floyd control his own money. So he can retire. Bob Arum controls Pac's money. Which means Arum has stole his money and will have to fight longer than he wants.

Money wise yes but it will be beat as it always does.

In historic terms no because these are 2 little old welterweights passed their best at an over inflated price.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
