I can remember being pulled over a lot back in the days of touring and gigging. Part of it was the van we used, must have had history etc, the van being full of people with all kinds of the wrong haircuts and doing things like reversing up the hard shoulder on motorways, throwing a TV at some angry twat from a biker gang ( he was so much bigger than me) and so much smoke and other substances emanating from it that when we pulled over people would stop and say, "we thought your engine/radiator had blown up" , didn't really help
