That was exactly the mistake of the fuhrer, trying to bite more than he can chew. He'd just gone a bit too far.
After the war they eventually tracked him down living in a bunker in the jungle in Paraguay. They asked him Adolf, if you had your time over again what would you do differently?

He said "next time no more Mister Nice Guy".
I thought he had a disease and was going mad anyway so the allied forces did not want him removed with someone who had the intelligence to win the war.
I thought it was the Americans who hid him somewhere in the Amazon pampering him like a king with the sponsorship from some corporate guys and bankers, not to mention the arm dealers, congratulating him, 'job well done, the whole Europe is now indebted to us.'
Those Ruskie guys are to blame for all these speculations, why the heck did they have to burn his body? or did they really do that. I have my doubts...

They didn't burn his body, the remaining Nazis in the bunker did that so the Russians couldn't put it on display. He was identified by skull fragments and dental records but they kept various survivors from the bunker in prison for years of interrogation just in case he had managed to escape.

He did manage to escape though. He definitely made it to Paraguay.

Most of the Nazi soldiers went to Argentina.

Lots in Paraguay. I used to work with a South African white supremacist who now lives in an enclave over there that's all families of former Nazis. Road signs in Gothic script and everything.

Methinks Stalin was so mad that he had his boys bring him alive and did to him whatever he wanted. Poor fella, a case of mad despot being tortured and mutilated by another. No trace, no Geneva thing, a wise move... or maybe the rumor that he lived to a ripe old age of 101 somewhere in S.Am... Take your pick, gentlemen. I prefer the one that he was sodomized by the gulag boys and had nothing but rats for meals...

After the collapse of the Soviet union there was a news release that the Kremlin had kept a part of Hitler in some strange storage bunker. I think it was a ribcage or something. I don't know if it was ever confirmed but I did read it.

In an episode of 1970's Wonder Woman they cloned Hitler. How far do you want to take this?

See your point but I'm serious. It was on the history channel. Soviet soldiers were interviewed and admitted bringing Hitler's remains to Russia. I think it was like a trophy to Stalin.

If Kirkland is right then it would have been only charred remains.

Oh yes, Kirk is right. It was well documented Hitler's people took him and his new bride outside, poured petrol on them and lit them up. It was only bones found at the Kremlin.

I'm a little surprised that the Germans acted just like their ally, the Japanese. To the Japs, ouch, it was dishonorable for them to get caught or their bodies taken by their enemies, an old samurai tradition they say. So that's why nobody could find the top Japanese general or his body in Iwo, and in Okinawa, where I originally came from, at the end of the last battle of WWII there the two top generals committed hara-kiri and had their lieutenants dispose their bodies and so their bodies were never found. There's are other historical connections between the two countries but that's another story...

(Btw, sorry about the inappropriate comment on the earlier post. I'm usually not that obnoxious but when I talk about someone like Hitler, I go overboard sometimes.)

True Pac, but I think the Japanese did it more as a cultural thing while the Nazis did it to avoid retribution.

Ya, reminded me of Kadhafi, once proud leader lynched by his own people...
