I agree and can see that same double standard at play with your post and that of the thread starter. I know you are both Puerto Rican and all that, but It's quite ludicrous to defend Cotto being unwilling to fight the best middleweight on the planet whilst holding a belt and his middleweight opponents hostage to his own demands, and yet think that Golvokin being willing to fight any middleweight out there without any "special" conditions is the same thing.

Golovkin is prepared to make catchweights to satisfy opponents in other weight classes in addition to fighting any middleweight as a middleweight without any of the diva like demands of Cotto. You are both bending over backwards to try and make two completely different situations appear the same. It's not hate when people are surprised by Cottos bullshit, it's disappointment. De la Hoya suggested fighting GGG, not the other way round, and every man and his dog would like to fight Mayweather. If you seriously think Floyd is comparable to Geale you must both be tripping. Golvkin is struggling to get up the hill whilst Miguel is coasting down it. These are not the same thing.

Can you blame GGG? He's getting older and still none of these sissies will give him the big fight he deserves. He's the best MW in the world and the linear MW champion won't fight at MW and wouldn't fight GGG even in his dreams.

Ward just offered him the "big fight" again and he said "I'll go to 168 for the right opponent". And in that some argued GGG was talking trash. Only for GGG is saying losely that a guy doesn't bring enough to the table talking trash. Sure the fighters in that shit division that has had recent champions such as a 72 year old 140 loss Sam Soliman, the brain dead shot ass Jermain Taylor, Andy Lee, and a fighter that was best at 140, sure they aren't lining up. But big names have said they would fight him so people should demand that a man who is 33 years old finally fights someone on his level. Any big fight he can get he should take, any. Not just a big payday, a big fight. A big fight can lead to a big payday later. No more arguing of the quality of his shitty ledger, the man is a rare talent and for years I've waited for him to show it. Not by knocking out scrubs, Lou Savarese did that, but by fighting top guys. If the littler guys aren't eager look to the bigger guys, whatever it takes to finally make a fight worthy of his talent before he Calzaghes away his career.

Cotto needs to drop the middleweight belt if he isn't a middleweight. When asked about it by Max Kellerman, he said, "do I look like a middleweight?" Well, if you aren't a middleweight and won't fight middleweights, then move back down to junior middleweight. Simple as that. Come out and say I'm not facing GGG because he's too big. Fair enough then. Fight Canelo and then Bradley and call it a day, but, drop the belts first.

If he's not willing to move up in weight, GGG should face the winner of Lemieux/N'Dam next and then follow that with the winner of Lee/BJS.

By the way @Ron Swanson, it appears Ward is moving up to the light heavyweight division with this fight where he's fighting Smith at 172. Froch has gone radio silent on the challenge of GGG. So, those ships might have sailed. There is DeGale, Abraham, Stieglitz and the winner of Jack/Groves.

Really ? What a dick move by Ward. Smith started as a MW is not a huge SMW and a pretty average one at that. Again people try and invert the situation and make it seem like Golovkin should be calling Ward out. Ward a guy who last fought Edwin Rodriquez of all people 18 months ago and has blamed his lack of fights or a sizeable following on nobody wanting to fight him. Do these guys think we are all stupid?

I agree that fighting the winner of Lemieux/N'Dam and then the winner or Lee/Saunders would be good fights for Golovkin before unifying the MW's and then fighting elsewhere. And if the Ring and the WBC could just both get on with stripping Cotto of a MW belt he has no intention of defending, that would be great too.

Boxing in this era is strange, very rare the best fighter face each other in the ring PPV networks,
promoters mangers, are now controlling the sport more than ever.
There are still good fight being made, but it could be far better GGG seems to be old school willing
to fight any one , but there does not seem to be many takers why because he good very good in fact,
and what he does is beat the crap out of his, opponents if they are lucky he KO them in a round
or two. Yep GGG is for real weather you like him or not, who is going to beat him Cotto, Canelo
IN A PIGS EYE, I have not seen anybody really trouble him lets be honest, he give them a little
hope he toys with them, then he finishes them off.

Well perhaps he should chase ward in the superweight divison.?!

He was happy to fight big boned chavez but we all choose to ignore that and keep saying he is the next Hagler!

Everyone wants to fight mayweather which is understandable and even though little cotto will get beaten by ggg he is actually now in the middleweight divison.

Yes, because calling out a man who won't even say your name, defend in his division and lost wide to the man to beat makes more Cents. Brilliant.

That said, Golovkin should not be serious about a two division gap and steer away from being somewhat desperate. Just keep beating people up

I dont get this hate. 1 GGG didnt call out DLH. He said hes happy to fight DLH and why not it would be a career high payday in an easy win. I dont get the problem with him wanting a fight with Mayweather either. If he did fight Mayweather its pretty close to a 50/50 fight. I wish more boxers would try get involved in 50/50 fights. Sick of seeing shite fights where you already know whos going to win. Look at Ward Smith at the weekend.
