I hate lists. No such thing as the best three but of the top of my head, ones that still stand the test of time

1. Crass - The Feeding of the 5000
2. Bus Station Loonies - Mad Franks Zonal Disco
3. Buzzcocks - Singles going steady

But on another day it could be another 33. The Stooges - The Stooges should really be way up there as a seminal album that Punk would not have happened without. Punk for me is about an attitude. A willingness to do it yourself and fly against the prevailing wind. Be original and f*%k what anyone thinks. By those criteria you would have to include Talking Heads, Magazine, Gang of Four and even people like Suicidal Tendencies, Sacred Reich, Napalm Death et al.

How can you not have Siouxie and the Banshees and the Slits ? John Cooper Clarke's poetry. In fact albums are quite an un punk rock thing to do. Penny Smith the photographer should have made an album of images but punk albums are a bit guilty of eating themsleves. If you can't say it in under 2 minutes and preferably 2 then f*&k off
