I have to disagree with OP. Broner left the lightweight division because he couldn't make weight, not because he was trying to give the fans the fights we want to see. Now when you say he could have cleared out the lightweight divisions with an "s" I am going to assume you are referring to super lightweight which some people refer to as junior welterweight and if that is the case I have to disagree with that as well. You think Broner would have dominated the likes of Garcia, Matthysse, Peterson, Crawford, etc? And I think Garcia, Peterson, Matthysse are bigger names than Shawn Porter and they contend at a weight division lower than Broner is fighting at now.

And Broner didn't start out fighting top welterweights, he started out his career being spoon fed the same type of opponents most superstar athletes get on their way up. Before he fought Ponce De Leon for the title, you would be hard pressed to find someone who thought a previous opponent even had a remote chance of winning their fight with him.

His braggadocio attitude doesn't bother me that much because I don't watch pre fight build up or blogs so I don't get to see it that much. But I know that if he wants people to continue to buy into that, he is going to have to start winning against some big names. I mean he has a lost to Maidana, three "W" over lightly regarded opponents, followed by a loss to Porter. If you didn't know I was talking about Broner, you would swear I was talking about a journeyman or some division gatekeeper but definitely not someone who thinks they are the second coming of Floyd Mayweather.

No one likes the OP, which is why we all have not read his post and disagree with him.

I understood what the opportunity V was getting at and it is not without merit. There are somethings I like about Broner. I still haven't watched the Porter fight which I will tomorrow but in the fight prior Broner actually impressed me a bit. He looked so much better laying off the Floyd shoulder row. I truly resented Broners clowning around against Maidana and looking for the DQ but I agree he has been taking on decent fights as of late so I can't say all negatives against him.
