If its a religious stance only and you are following the letter of the book, start stoning everyone cause it tells you to do that too for many other reasons not just this one.
Yes it does Andre, but do you recall that Christ put a stop to that.
Why? Had God got it wrong for a couple thousand years ? Was it justifiable back then?
No not really Beanz. It's just a theological thing. Christ payed for our sins. That of course is the nutshell. Prior to Christ the Israelites were gods arm of justice but I'm sure you are not looking for a theological discussion from me.

The idea of Christ paying for everyone's sins was the start of a slippery slope for Christianity. It soon led to all kinds of heinous things being done in his name. Not such a big change from the misguided Hebrews who made Judaism their own idol.

Interesting take on things. Is that the final say on the matter or do other thoughts hold any merit.

    ?

This is how a forum works. People post their opinions, reflections and points of view. The merits of other thoughts are entirely subjective and variable dependent on content. To post an alternative point of view is not the same as dismissing all merit in your own. There is never a final say. This is not the Bible it's an online thread. It will evolve over time.

You can get a cold flannel or a stick on pain relieving plaster for that in this day and age.

Men are spiritually bunkrupt to pay for their sins, you cannot drag yourself from a swamp my pull your own hairs with your hand.

This is why God intervened and provided HIS OWN righteousness.

At my advanced and decrepid age of 43 I find myself pulling hairs out of myself more and more. Big long white ones, stiff as a brush bristle from my nose, ears, eyebrows etc. Never needed to ask Jeebus or anyone else for help.

Casual grey has succumbed to the white crooked fried ones that seem to pop up overnight. No loving god would ever let a man walk around for a full day only to get home and see what amounts to fishing line jutting out of your ear and eyebrow, unless he's all outta lighting and reduced to death by 1001 plucks

For me personally, I'm happy that my friends can get married and get the same rights as the rest of us.

Ministers do not have to marry anyone they don't want to, even under current law.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
