Carl has nothing to prove and I hope he fights Degale and regains the title they stripped from him, makes 10 mil and rides off into the sunset. It would be great for the guy if he beat Degale and the money would be ten times the amount he'd get against 3G.

Its his last fight most likely and he's earned the right to finish on his terms. I think he's firing back with this picture because of the urban legend that has started from him making some off the cuff comments on a broadcast about how he'd stay away from 3g

He was simply part of a broadcast team watching his fight and made that. Its part of the unplanned dialogue of the show. From that little blurb for months now all you see on the net is how Carl is scared shitless.

    Crazy stuff.
This is what enfuriates me about fans, they have no respect what so ever. Froch has earned admiration by repeatedly taking on the toughest challenges. I didn't like him myself when he first became a known commodity because of all his talking but then he fought top guy after top guy. Not payday after payday but actual good fighters. That should be respected. But here Froch is old and unsure if he even wants to fight and taking his time to decide and "boxing fans" have the nerve to question this champions courage, or say he is scared. That is pathetic, not pathetic by Froch but pathetic by "boxing fans".

Where did Hearn say the catchweight wasn't true?

When you read this, you're gonna say "He doesn't actually SAY it." but I think the logical conclusion is that nobody asked for a catchweight. it's up to you in my book. I also saw on a report on Boxing scene saying Hearn denied it, but I can't find it and I ain't trawling through old news anymore. sorry.

Yeah he doesn't say it (). Reason I asked is - Hearn has been unusually quiet about this Golovkin fight. Everything is coming from Golovkin's manager Tom Loeffler.

The Froch /Calzaghe feud/war of words has gone on so long now that Froch (and this is back in May) is supposedly even willing to have a straightener out on the cobbles with Calzaghe

Yeah, not the greatest source. I'm sorry I couldn't find the one I read on Boxing scene, it was a couple of lines at the end of a report . if I find it , I'll forward it .
I did look on Hearn's Twitter page though and it was as they said. The reason I think Hearn has been quiet is because he KNOWS Froch is retired, and I reckon Hearn reckons Froch is just being a tease. Hearn can't be fucked wasting energy and time on a match up only for Froch to say no.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Froch is bottling it or anything like that. And if he hadn't have been so inactive at his age, with the size difference , he might even win the fight.
What I'm saying is that Froch knows that you're a long time retired and he probably hasn't had as many out of ring options thrown at him as he thought he would, and he is just craving and milking every last drop of spotlight.

You can't start posting on social media that your "too big and strong" for Glolovkin (who it was clearly aimed at) then go silent when Golovkins team start firing bac tweets saying "ok wonderful now prove it"
This happened earlier and Froch has gone very quiet all of a sudden.
Either fight him or retire and stop all the bullshit.
Golovkin has put himself on a plate for Froch and done so publicly, offering to fight in the UK and move up in weigh - both are huge advantages for Froch and I'm amazed he hasn't jumped at this already.
I think deep down Froch knows Golovkin will dish out a career first stoppage and simply doesn't want to go out like that 😉

With all due respect Primo never said Froch was scared and we here in the UK have been watching Froch long before he burst onto the world scene. He has always been a divisive figure here. From the moment he slagged off Calzaghe and demanded to jump the queue to face him. I myself have eulogized him to the point where prior to the Ward fight I suggested he had the opportunity to eclipse virtually all British super middleweights before him, and make a case for being one of the greatest British fighters ever.

Ward can make very good fighters look average so we shouldn't be too hard on him but he has just became unbearably smug since. He loves himself and the limelight so much (which is seen as very UnBritish) that he still can not bring himself to acknowledge the punch that Groves floored him with as being at all significant in his career. He might fight Golovkin but he has been inactive for a while now and that could end up costing him. He is not dumb enough to not realize this and so I would not be in the least bit surprised to see him retire rather than face him. Not because he fears him but because it is a risk he does not need to take. Maybe he would be up to the challenge and good luck to him if he is (he will need it) but at the moment it's just empty words. We will see.
