Didn't Ray Leonard practically invent the 168 division by fighting the light heavyweight champion at that limit?

Considering he wasn't the champion, that's a bit worse isn't it?
Yeah and he also demanded a championship match be 12 rounds instead of 15.

That's why I always feel boxing could still have a home inside a circus tent because it's more of an event than a fixture. It's a money making scheme masquerading as a sport. So when the main ticket seller has more clout than the promoter and even the bit of plastic he's fighting for, then he gets to call some shots.

Cotto-Canelo Could Have Special WBC Belt at Stake - Boxing News

HA! You couldn't make it up
This belt lark is getting beyond a joke. Every fight now seems to have its own belt.

    Default It's on

Cotto-Canelo: Nov 21st in Las Vegas.

..... and STILL Canelo doesn't venture outside the friendly confines of the Mex-Tex-Cal triangle.

    Well... it was your idea.

Seriously though... enough pulling your chain.
Obviously you know Las Vegas isn't the only place where boxing is held.
Canelito has never left his own backyard, while Cotto has fought in Vegas many times.
They could've made the fight in MSG.

Why would they not have a huge fight in Vegas it is where most big fights happen and it is a neutral of place as any. I mean there not having it at there home towns there having it at the place were fighters are pretty much at home because so many big fights have gone down there.

This is one of those fights where the only honest answer is "i have no idea." They both can win, it just depends who shows up more the night they fight. Out of ten times I'd say 5-5 for each guy. I'm sure I'll take this all back in hindsight, but right now it seems legit.

    It's called a "discussion", asswipe.

Something I realize you know little about since your idea of a discussion is uttering shit phrases like:

    "Pac is a PED cheat."
    OR...
    "Floyd is TBE."
    For about 458 straight posts.

Still... keep gracing us with your comical presence, ruthy.

Ive made Canelo a decent fav. I think hell be too big and too strong for Cotto. Cotto has looked good against pretty shot fighters recently but Canelo will be a completely different animal. I see a wide UD or a late stoppage.

Canelo's a natural middleweight or above.
Cotto's a natural welterweight or superwelter.

On paper, Canelo IS too big and strong for Cotto. He's also a hell of a lot younger.
However... fights aren't fought on paper, and I expect Cotto to surprise a lot of people by upsetting the young'un.
