Price is just a good example of good talent with no true backing. He needs to decide now on what he needs to do!
Trainers can't fix a glass jaw! If Price doesn't have the brains or talent to protect his chin a trainer can't help him.

He should go try and win the British outright after Joshua or Whyte vacates it.

True, but a decent trainer could teach him some proper defence other than just backing away and pawing his punches with no conviction like he's afraid of being hit. The way he fought Teper, he was asking to be knocked out.

Price is a huge guy with decent power. He doesn't use the advantages he has at all.

Price looks finished and will end getting seriously hurt. He looks like a frightened rabbit when he gets hit and his legs turn to jelly.

Unfortunately you are bang on, he looks gun shy. Its a shame that the present era (started by the Mickey Duffs and continued by Warren) has fighters literally thrown on the scrap heap after a few defeats, and at the same time others get amazing rewards for knocking over stiffs. How many other one on one sports see careers ruined after a few defeats?

Boxing now, especially heavyweights, is a promoter picking his man and backing/hyping/bullshitting him in to a million dollar title fight, investment then pays out. It puts tremendous pressure on the actual fighters, at least Audrey put himself under that pressure and earned a bit more money. Hobson has the Aussie lummox, Fat Mick has Tyson, Jim Evans had Roman Greenberg (whatever happened to him?) Warren had Chisora, Sauerland took a punt on Price, etc. etc. etc.

In the old days we did not stop watching Henry Cooper, Billy Walker, Brian London, Johnny Prescott etc. just because they lost the odd fight!

Looking to the future it would be a crying shame if Joshua became a shot talent because he lost a few, think about it.

    Rant over

I think Price's biggest problems are psychological.

I still think a good trainer could make a huge difference to him though.

Well Wlad went through the same shit and we all saw how he turned his career around.

Can Price do the same thing at 32? Might be a bit late for him.

It may be over... his loss to Thompson wasn't that bad aside from gassing out, but this loss was just bad. Bad, bad, bad... knocked out like THAT.

Haha! You lot are so fickle.

Ruiz won a world title after being wiped out by Tua in a round. He then went on to win a world title. Tua never did. Khan was wiped out in a round and knocked out by Garcia and has an excellent career winning world titles and beating dangerous fighters like Maidana.

If you look back on the posts as Price was fighting people like Sexton and Skelton I made comments about how I saw things that led me to think he would fail against tougher fighters. He needs tougher training and sparring. The Furys reached out to him to offer their help and he turned it down. That is a very confident camp and would have done Price the world of good.

Price would need to be very VERY selective of who he fights. I doubt his current promotional situation allows for cherry picking.
